My husband and I wanted to take a trip to the Columbia River Gorge to look at the many waterfalls in the area, so we decided to hike the many trails to find them along the gorge.  We had a lovely time enjoying the falls and the scenery along! The Pacific Northwest is so very beautiful!

I used a template from the Summer Home pages for my first page, and just swapped out the colors, and added a few more embellishments to make it my own.

I submitted this for the My Digital Studio.net Challenge - "Tailored Template".

It's been awhile since I worked on my 2011 photobook, so thought to create a double-page spread of our trip to Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia.  Beautiful Place!  We had so many pictures it was so difficult to chose the ones I used on my pages.  =)

I loosely used a sketch I found on Pinterest from Simple Stories blog -- Life Documented #2 Sketch.
I loved that this sketch had so many photos.... my husband loves to take them, and I love to show them off. =)

I also used the MDS Challenge - Color Challenge #4. Use Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Smoky Slate on your page.

I also used the 'Attach to Shape' so my typed text (on the birth of your twin girls) curved the way the stamp brush set did with Congratulations!

Thanks for taking a look.

Supplies:
Background paper - Textured Cardstock (Bashful Blue)
Embellishments - Walk in the Park II (leaves), Brads (Brass)
Stamp Brush Set - Two by Two (Black)

Beautiful Mother - MDSM12

Playing along with a few challenges today.  Once is from MDS Monday blog (MDSM12), they provided the sketch.... as well as.... the use of the Brush Tool.  You may view the challenge on their site here: MDSM12 .  The second is from the MDS.net site, they challenged us to use the retiring Stampin' Up colors, as well as, making a project for your Mom.

I chose to create a page centering around my mother and with the retiring SU colors Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose. The Brush Tool was used behind the background stamp -- coloring in a portion of that stamp (I should use the brush tool more often... it really adds to my page!). =)
The poem is from Helen Steiner Rice, and I found it on the internet.  Here are the words:

*********
A Mother’s love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.
*********
Thanks for looking!

Happiness

Today I wanted to try some techniques on my page "Grouped Photo Boxes", "Re-coloring Embellisments" and "Multi-Colored Stamps".

I incorporated the MDS Challenge (Valentine's Project), as well as the Splitcoaststampers Challenge - DGSC099 (Technique Challenge) for my page.

I used a photo taken in 2010, while vacationing in Hawaii! We so LOVE Hawaii! =)

For the "Grouped Photo Boxes" I created 6 photo boxes and grouped them together before adding my photo.
For "Re-coloring Embellishments", I chose the hearts border.  It originally had several different color hearts on it.  I selected "Pretty in Pink" and  it changed them to wonderful shades of pink.
For the "Multi-Colored Stamps", I chose the stamp "Happiness".  I colored each letter Whisper White, Early Espresso or Pretty in Pink".

For this weeks challenge on the My Digital Studio.net website is to use the digital downloads that were released in September on your project.  Well, the only September digital download I purchased was the "Festive Blooms", so that was what I had to work with.

I decided to create a Christmas card, and made a fireplace out of punches (filling them in with the Well Worn DSP).

Family - SCIC58

This weeks' challenge on MyDigitalStudio.net is to create a page that has 10 or more photos on it.

Surprisingly, I did not have any scrapbook pages that had more than 9 photos in anything that I have created thus far, so the challenge was on.

Also, I submitted this for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge (SCIC58).
You can view all the projects created with it here:
SCIC58

I decided to make a Schwab Family Tree page, and really like how this page turned out. (I will probably mirror this page to create a Malcor Family Tree too, but those photos will be harder to come by). =)

Thanks so much for taking the time to view my page!
