Autumn Wishes

My grandmother is back in the hospital again with pneumonia (I'm thinking she never really got over her other bout with it a few months ago).

I wanted a verse or phrase that was a cheerful get-well, and didn't have a stamp.  So.... I created my verse through My Digital Studio and printed it on Naturals Ivory Cardstock, and finished it the traditional way.

Thanks for looking!

Minecraft Birthday

My nephew loves to play Minecraft, so I decided to create a card with a Minecraft person (he doesn't like Creeper).

I used My Digital Studio to create the effect of a pix-elated person using square punches. I then printed it out on Whisper White cardstock and finished it by matting on Creamy Caramel and Midnight Muse Cardstock.

I noticed that after I printed it.... my colors seem darker than in my MDS software....hmmm... I'll need to look into correcting that.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
My Digital Studio
Punch - Square (filled w/ Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel, Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake, Basic Black)
Font - Franciscan (Early Espresso)

Cardstock - Whisper White, Creamy Caramel and Midnight Muse

Wonderfall You - PP172

I created this card for my Aunt, as she will be going through chemo treatments to combat a rare blood disorder (they say it's not cancer..... so it's very curable with treatment! Thank the Lord!).

I used the theme of leaves from the Paper Players Challenge on their blog (PP172).  You may view the challenge here: http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2013/11/challenge-172-cas-with-leaves-from-nance.html

I also used a sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog (SFF101813).  The challenge is over with, but the layout was a great one..... so I kept it to use at a later time. You may view that challenge here: http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/2013/10/sff101813.html

After I created my card.... I was thinking it would look a lot better with a texture to the Early Espresso background. Hmmm...what do you think?

Paper - Old Olive, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink - Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler

Deb's 2014-2015 Calendar

My sister needed a desktop calendar, and thought of me and the My Digital Studio software.  I had never created an easel calendar before, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I was impressed that you could create two years worth of pages for this calendar.... and it's cheaper than a regular 8.5x11 size!  True, the pages are smaller 4x6, and the month pages are smaller to write in (if you wanted to add names and such).  I used a symbols for birthdays, wedding anniversaries, Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, etc....so it worked out well.

Here are her pages that I created using animal photos from the various zoos we've been to in our travels. Calendar 2014....is shown on the left hand side, and Calendar 2015 is shown on the right (....in backwards order)!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Corset

I will be gaining a new sister-in-law in December, and as I am party of the wedding party... I will be a part of her bachlorette party!  I saw similar designs on pinterest in creating a corset card, so I decided to try my hand at creating one.  Boy, is it a lot of work!  Tying the ribbon and placing the lace edge gave me the most trouble, but I believe it was well worth the effort.... I think it turned out beautiful! Here's hoping my new sister-in-law will love it!

I used the scallop oval framelits to create the neckline and the leg openings.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories - Big Shot, Ovals Collection Framelits, Beautifully Baroque TIEF, Taffeta Ribbon (Real Red), lace (non-SU), hole punch, Double-sided Sticky tape

Best of Surgery

It's been a while since I've created cards here, as I have been concentrating on working in MDS (My Digital Studio) creating Christmas Cards, Calendars and Scrapbook pages.  It's great to get back into working with actual paper, tape and ribbon! =)

Although, it's never fun when someone needs to have surgery..... it will definitely cheer them up when they receive 'Get Well' cards!  My niece just had knee surgery to re-attach her torn ligaments.  Her favorite color is green, so I used that on my card too! May she have a speedy recovery.

I know my cast is below the knee, but hey... I had to work with what I have on hand!  I used the retired Stocking punch and the Lattice Square TIEF for the cast.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Best of Shelli, Express Yourself
Paper - Gumball Green, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Basic Black
Ink - Black Staz-on
Accessories - Stamp-a-ma-jig, Big Shot, Square Lattice TIEF, Stocking Punch, Owl Punch, glue dots, Satin Stitched Ribbon (Gumball Green)
