Loving Trees

It's been a while since I've been in my crafting area to create cards.... I've missed it! =)
I so wanted to work with some new stamp sets, but.... this one came together so quickly.... I just had to use one of my favorite stamp sets - "Lovely As A Tree'.

Philly Zoo

 

I decided to play with the progressive challenge #14 on Splitcoaststampers website for the first page, and then I created a companion page to finish it up with the rest of the photos I had from the Philadelphia Zoo trip.

Seaside Museum

 

Finishing up our trip to Seaside, OR with our visit to the Historical Museum there. It was cool to see so may early inventions there at the museum.

Seaside Coast

 

With these two pages.... I wanted to use a photo for my background paper -- AND, I wanted it to span both pages.  It was easily done with my software, as all I needed to do was place it in double-page view and then right-click and select 'span pages'.  So cool!

While walking along the shore, we came across a historical trail marker. Marking the trail that Lewis and Clark took. Very cool!

Seaside Aquarium

 

Getting closer to finishing this 2011 photobook!!! I'm into August 2011 now...whoo-hoo!  Mike had work in Beaverton, OR around this time, so we decided to drive to the coast (Seaside, OR) to do some sight-seeing, as well as to walk on the coast!  Here is our trip to the Aquarium there.... right on the coast.

International Rose Test Garden

Columbia River Gorge

 


My husband and I wanted to take a trip to the Columbia River Gorge to look at the many waterfalls in the area, so we decided to hike the many trails to find them along the gorge.  We had a lovely time enjoying the falls and the scenery along! The Pacific Northwest is so very beautiful!

I used a template from the Summer Home pages for my first page, and just swapped out the colors, and added a few more embellishments to make it my own.

Buffalo Creek Lodge

 

Moving along, working on my 2011 scrapbook.  I had already created a photobook specifically for our trip to this Lodge (as a keepsake for my family members), but wanted to include a two-page spread in our 2011 photobook as well.  So, I chose to just include the Lodge picture and our family photos.

Elmwood Park Zoo

 

Created another two-page spread for my 2011 photobook!!!  May 2011 is almost complete.... just putting the finishing touches on my other two-page spread....and I will share it with all of you! =)

The above pages are from our trip to the Elmwood Zoo near Philadelphia. It was a smaller zoo, but it didn't disappoint.

Longwood Gardens

 


It's been awhile since I worked on my 2011 photobook, so thought to create a double-page spread of our trip to Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia.  Beautiful Place!  We had so many pictures it was so difficult to chose the ones I used on my pages.  =)

I loosely used a sketch I found on Pinterest from Simple Stories blog -- Life Documented #2 Sketch.
I loved that this sketch had so many photos.... my husband loves to take them, and I love to show them off. =)

I also used the MDS Challenge - Color Challenge #4. Use Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Smoky Slate on your page.

50th Birthday Cascade

This is my first attempt at creating a cascading card.  I made it for my husband's 50th birthday.  I kept the colors simple....yet now when I look at it... it may seems a bit plain. BUT!  My husband adored my card! =)

I created the "label" part in My Digital Studio (MDS), and printed it on Whisper White cardstock before using the Labels Collection Framelit.

Frosted Flurries

Decided to play with some exciting new products  from Stampin' Up! that will be available August 1, 2013 for customers.

The Festive Flurries Stamp set and Festive Flurries Framelits, as well as...the Frosted Finishes Embellishment.
