Sunny Adventure

My niece, Kassie, takes many photos of raptors, wolves and her kitty. So, for her birthday I wanted to create a card centered around the photos she takes everyday.

I found the camera in my digital software, so I created the focal point of the card within My Memories Suite.

Behind the camera, I overlapped two sunburst embellishments to create the starburst. The text is also from the computer (well, expect for the 'Have A' .... I had a stamp for that!).

Once I printed it off on Whisper White cardstock, I was able to finish the card using the traditional method.

Thanks for looking!

Flood

My Aunt and Uncle came home, one day, to their home in ruins.  Apparently, while they were gone a pipe burst in their upstairs bathroom.  With them being gone several days... only 2 bedrooms were free of damage.  Everything else...other bedrooms, kitchen, living room, both bathrooms and basement had water damage.  Floors, ceiling and walls will need to be repaired along with furniture too.  My heart went out to them. The bright side was that no one was hurt and that the home and it's furnishing can be replaced.  Although... with things that were sentimental... sigh.

So, I decided to create a lovely card for them. I did and will send out that card, but my husband suggested that I create this card for them too.  Of Noah and the Ark.... and then the inside with the rainbow and God's promises.

I really like the symbolism in the artwork and words.  Beautiful!  I pray that they receive God's love and His strength to get through this.

Thanks for stopping by!

Well.... guess what?  I was wrong... I haven't finished our 2014 photo book yet! I found a few trips that Mike went on without me last year.  So, I will be working on those to get this photo book finished!
In April 2014, Mike went to Rochester, NY for work.  He must have been there for 2 weeks, since he was able to go to the zoo there during the day.  I totally missed out, as there were raccoons at this zoo! How cool is that! (For anyone who doesn't know... I love raccoons!!!!)

Rainbow State - MDSM103

Playing along with the MDS Monday Blog Challenge (MDSM103), with Yapha's and Tami's great sketch.  I had these beautiful photos of Hawaiian rainbow's that I wanted to scrap, and their sketch really provided a great layout! Thanks Yapha and Tami!

At first I started out with a yellow/blue background, but that didn't draw out my photos at all. Then, a lightbulb went off... why not use Red, Orange, Yellow (and the photo provides the Green, Blue and sort of Purple. LOL!).  I finished off my page with Sunshine and Sprinkles embellishments, as well as Marina Mist ribbon and brads.

Thanks for stopping by!

Background - Real Red
Punch - Square (filled w/Pumpkin Pie DSP, Daffodil Delight Textured Cardstock)
Embellishments - Sunshine and Sprinkles (sun and rainbow); Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Marina Mist); Flower Brads (Marina Mist)

Beachcomber Hotel

Sorry to say it's been a long time since I made scrapbook pages...and it seems I'm getting behind again. Ack!  I'd like to get to a point where I can scrapbook things within a month of the event -- I'm hoping that CAN happen soon! Ha!

I'm working on our 2014 photobook with our trip to northern California with Mike's parents.  This happened in April 2014.  We had such a pleasant trip traveling up the coast and staying at the Beachcomber Hotel before going up the coast to see the Redwood trees (that will be my next several pages of our photobook, so stay tuned!).

Thanks for stopping by!

Sand - DGSCPR0025Task4

Working on a scrapbook page from our recent trip to the coast (of California).  I played along with the June Progressive Digi-Scrap Challenge on the Splitcoaststampers website.  The challenge gives you a few tasks to do each week (within the month) so, at the end of that month, you have a completed page.

If you'd like to view the challenge for June, start here: June Progressive Challenge - Task 1 . From that one you can find tasks 2-4.

Easter 2013

I decided to create a few scrapbook pages for our 2013 Photobook  (still trying to get caught up-to-date).  While Mike and I were in Dallas, we drove down to Hutto (three hour drive) to see my sister and her family to spend Easter with them.  It was great to be around family during the Holiday!

In creating this page.... I 'editted' the circle punch to get the easter egg punch that you see on these pages.  To edit punches within the My Digital Studio software.... it's a bit tricky, but with trial and error.... I got a shape that I liked.  Within MDS, select punches from the Design Center (right-hand side), then select the shape you'd like to edit...... now, select 'Edit Shape' on the bottom left-hand
corner. Once the shape editor comes up, just drag the 'black boxes' around the shape to adjust it. Once you have the shape you want..... select 'ok' (it'll ask you to name it, so you may use the editted shape again and again in your projects!).  Cool - huh?
After creating the egg shaped punch, I was able to fill them in with the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP.... which (to me) reminds me of dyed egg colorings.

Thanks for taking a look!

Font - CK Honey (Early Espresso)

Sunshine Thanks - MDSM60

I was a bit nervous about creating something with this sketch I found on the MDS Monday blog (MDSM60).  You may view the challenge, and all the cards created with it here:

But, after I started playing with it, changing colors and papers and such! I had some fun with it!  I really like the end result too.

Along with the sketch, the challenge asked us to re-color some embellishments on your page/card.  I chose to re-color the circle embellishment (inside the sunburst)...the decorative edge was green....and I changed it to Black.  Also, the sentiment itself is an embellishment (in the Hooray of Parties Kit)... it was gray with the flowers being different colors -- and I changed it all to be white.

Thanks ladies for an exciting challenge!

Supplies Used - My Digital Studio software, Stampin' Up!
Background - Textured Cardstock (Daffodil Delight)
Punch - Square (filled w/Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP #4); Flag (filled w/ Whisper White and Basic Black); Sunburst (filled w/Daffodil Delight); Circle (filled w/ Basic Black)

Quicksilver Lodge - DGSC103

Created another two-page spread for our 2010 photobook. =)
I used a sketch that I am not quite sure where I got it from. Possibly from Scrapbooks Etc. or Creating Keepsakes.... just not so sure.  Here's the sketch:

I incorporated the Digi-Scrap Challenge (DGSC103- Still Using Stamp Brushes) into my two-pages.
With this challenge, you needed to 1) Use a stamp as a background 2) Use your punches 3) Use a Stamp Brush set as your Title and 4) Use an embellishment that you haven't used yet.

You may view the challenge here: DGSC103 - Still Using Stamp Brushes

Well,  1) I used the Natural Composition Overlays to create what 'to me' looks like snow on the top and bottom edge of the pages in the background. 2) I used square punches with Whisper White cardstock for the top and bottom edges. 3) I used the 'Raspberry Splash' Stamp Brush Set for the title. 4) I have used some embellishments before, but I did find a few that I would never have thought to use from the 'Summer Home' (circle tag) and 'Sunshine and Sprinkles' (label) kits.

I had a lot of fun with this sketch and challenge!
Thanks for looking!

Chocolate Bunny

OMG! I couldn't resist creating this using My Digital Studio.  I've seen similar cards, shirts and cartoons created with this same saying, so wanted to try my hand at it! =)

I do have to say, that it was a bit tough trying to get the scallop circle punch (used for the bite marks on the ear and butt) aligned perfectly with the background paper (but I did it!).
I colored in the Chocolate Bunny stamp using the freeform tool -- Chocolate Chip color.
After printing on Whisper White cardstock....I placed the card front on Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Thanks for taking a look!

Stamp Sets - Chocolate Bunny (Early Espresso and colored in with Chocolate Chip), Inspired By Nature (grass - Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Always Artichoke), Spring Fever (word bubble - Early Espresso), Twitterpated (basket weave - Perfect Plum), Easter Blossoms (words- Early Espresso)

Punches - Square (filled w/Perfect Plum and Pale Plum), Scallop Circle (Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP #10)
Embellishments - Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Daffodil Delight)
