Notions of the Sea

I really enjoy seeing Stampin' Up! cards on Pinterest! There are so many variations for each stamp set that Stampin' Up! showcases. Stampers everywhere are so very talented. Like, Sandy Van Meter with her card on the right! I changed the colors to make it my own, but wanted to give credit to Sandy! Thanks Sandy for your inspiration!

Thanks for dropping by!

Wild Notions

I love the color combo of yellow/orange/green. Reminds me of spring and brilliant colors. Now I know it isn't spring... most likely it's dreary and overcast in February. BUT... we can find happiness in knowing that spring is coming soon!

Thanks for dropping by!

Seaside Shells

The Seaside Notions stamp set does not come with coordinating dies, but that does not stop me from cutting them out individually with scissors.

I had some trouble deciding on the background DSP color.... I could have chosen Soft Sea Foam or a Balmy Blue, but I chose to use Crumb Cake to make the scene a wavy sand background piece.

Hope you like it!

Petal Notions

Not sure who designed the card on the right. I found it on Pinterest, but the image doesn't go to any particular website. So... if this card is yours.... thanks for your inspiration! I really liked the colors and the layout, so I created one for myself.

I used Stampin' Blends markers to color in the image. Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler for the roses, Light Cherry Cobbler and Dark Flirty Flamingo for the rosettes, and Light and Dark Mossy Meadow on the leaves.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Petal Palette, Seaside Notions
Ink - Memento, Stampin' Blends (Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo)
Paper - Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Petals and More Dies, glue dots

Smooth Seaside

I created a cute seascape using the stamp set 'Seaside Notions' along with the 'Sailing Home' dies. They are not a true coordinating pair, but both have the 'SEA' theme.

As you can see, I used the rope die to create a border for my sentiment.

I colored the image using Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake). The seaweed is one die, but with 2 different colored papers (Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam). I used scissors to cut out the seahorse.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Seaside Notions
Ink - Early Espresso, Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake)
Paper - Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Color Theory DSP

Seaside Root

When I saw Christy Velasquez' card (right), I just loved the colors and the simplicity of it -- I had to make one for myself (well, for my Uncle).

I tend to go dark (rather than light) when I do sponging... and this card reflects my heavy inking on the sponge daubers. I think it turned out very well. Now, on Christy's card, she added a sprinkle of white... I chose not to do this on my card.

Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Rooted In Nature, Seaside Notions
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Memento
Paper - Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories - Basic Black Thick Twine, sponge daubers, scrap paper (to mask a portion of cardstock)

Seaside To Be

For our anniversary, I wanted to try my hand with mirror images using the Stamparatus.

For this, you need to stamp the image on the plastic plate on the stamparatus first, then press the plate to your paper. Next, stamp a second image next to that one directly on the paper next to it. You can tell which seahorse is the image stamped from the plate instead of directly from the stamp (the one on the right is slightly lighter in shade).

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Seaside Notions, Meant to Be, Well Said
Ink - Early Espresso, Real Red, Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake)
Paper - Early Espresso, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Smooth Sailing dies, dimensionals, Stamparatus, Real Red Solid Ribbon

Sailing Tide

I saw a similar layout in a monochromatic theme (blue) on Pinterest, but wanted mine to reflect natural colors.

I used a scrap of paper to create a negative space circle shape, so I could mask the area I didn't want to color. The only colors utilized for the background are Coastal Cabana and So Saffron using a sponge dauber to control the shades lighter or darker in areas.

The boat was colored in using Stampin' Blends (Soft Suede and Ivory)
