Birthday Textures

I saw Paula Reid's card on Pinterest and wanted to create one similar for my brother-in-law. Such a great masculine card -- thanks Paula for your inspiration!

I used the Wood Textures DSP for both the strips and background piece. I matted each with Basic Black and mounted it on Crumb Cake cardstock.

The sentiment is from the set 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous'.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Graduate Celebration

I really like creating part of my card within my digital software and the rest the traditional way. The best of both worlds.... and very original designs too!

The quote I found online... such a fitting sentiment for anyone graduating.

My niece is graduating from high school and her school colors are orange and black.

My digital software is so cool, as you are able to re-color embellishments to create a look all its own. I re-colored the orange and yellow flowers and also the diploma to a dark gray. There was a bow on the diploma, but as I recolored it... it was a deeper shade of gray. So, I found a bow and re-colored it orange and placed it over the bow that was there.

I printed it out using Whisper White cardstock.

Supplies Used:
My Memories Suite digital software
Embellishments - ConGRADulations (diploma - MyMem); The Blahs Flower (flower - MyMem); Nature Hike (flower - COD); Addon (flower - MyMem); Ribbon flowers (bow-AWS); Brass Brad (SU)
Stamp Brush Set - Grad Party (cap)
Font - Bradley Hand
Paper - Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories - Die Cut/Emboss Machine, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, Pumpkin Pie taffeta ribbon, Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon

Samantha Graduation

My brother asked me to create graduation invites for his daughter, our niece. He didn't want her photo on the invite, so this is what I created.

I used my digital software, My Memories Suite to create the invites. Then, I printed 2 on an 8.5x11 piece of white cardstock. The invite measures 5x7. I printed 70 invitations.

The fonts used on the card are Chelsey (year), At Last Greeting (class of and name), GeoSlab703 (everything else).

The background is an overlay from Natural Compositions Overlays(SU) and the graduation cap is from Grad Party (SU).

Thanks for dropping by for a closer look!

Supplies Used:

fonts: Chelsey, At Last Greeting
Stamp Brush Set - Grad Party (cap - SU); Natural Compositions Overlays (background - SU)

Wooden Waterfront

My nephew is turning 20 today.... a young man -- no longer a teen. He lives in Colorado (my twin sister's son). I wanted to give him a card that reflected where he lives, but still be masculine. I believe I have achieved it here!

The background is from the Wood Textures DSP. The twine is non-SU from my local craft store.

Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Waterfront, Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Ink - Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow
Paper - Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Wood Textures DSP

Decorative Box

As of March 24, 2019, we gained a beautiful baby niece to add to our growing family! She is precious!
Here's a cute photo of her: Eleanor Katherine Schwab

She will be Baptized on June 9, 2019. We wanted to give her something that she could remember the day. Pinterest to the rescue! We found this wonderful block - made of maple - that she can keep forever. Palmetto Wood Shop and Engraving did a beautiful job in creating a wooden block that she will cherish forever! Thank you! Here is the website, should you want one of your own:

Here is the picture of the wooden block we received:

Now, upon delivery, the block was surrounded in yellow tissue paper, but not a box (just the shipping box). So, with my Envelope Punch Board from SU.... I made one to fit perfectly for the block.

I had to do some surfing to find the correct measurements for my box to be the right size. I stumbled upon the blog "The Crafty Owl" (Joanne). She provided a calculator (in inches AND centimeters, as she is from the UK) to create customizable boxes. All you need to enter are the dimensions that you need and it gives you the size paper to cut for the Envelope Punch Board and where to place your 1st and 2nd punch. Here is the site: http://www.thecraftyowl.co.uk/boxbuster/

In my case, I needed a box that was 2.25 inches square. I cut a piece of Petal Pink at 7.25 inches square. My first punch/score was at 2 inches and the second punch/score was at 5.25 inches. Utilizing the bone folder, I creased all the score lines and made the necessary folds for the corners.

As for decorating the sides of the box, I used the Layering Squares dies. The scallop edge with Whisper White cardstock, the square piece inside the scallop background is from 'Twinkle Twinkle DSP'.

For the bow on top... I also used the Envelope Punch Board. Along with Debbie Henderson's step by step instructions. You can find them here: https://debbiesdesignsblog.blogspot.com/2014/06/envelope-punch-board-bows.html

Kind Glory

When I saw a card with the colors Black/Red/White on Pinterest it really caught my eye... as the background piece was black. Pretty unusual to me. So, with the stamps that I had I wanted to create a card similar.

I chose to use the flower from the 'Morning Soft' stamp set. I did use scissors to cut the flower out. (Note - the flower cluster does have more flowers and leaves on it, but I cropped them for my card).

The sentiment is from the 'Blooming with Kindness' set.
