Playing along with a few challenges today. Once is from MDS Monday blog (MDSM12), they provided the sketch.... as well as.... the use of the Brush Tool. You may view the challenge on their site here: MDSM12 . The second is from the MDS.net site, they challenged us to use the retiring Stampin' Up colors, as well as, making a project for your Mom.
I chose to create a page centering around my mother and with the retiring SU colors Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose. The Brush Tool was used behind the background stamp -- coloring in a portion of that stamp (I should use the brush tool more often... it really adds to my page!). =)
The poem is from Helen Steiner Rice, and I found it on the internet. Here are the words:
*********
A Mother’s love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.
And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely! Love your choice of the doily for the circle, and so nice to include a poem. Thanks for joining MDS Monday this week.
ReplyDeleteDiane, your triple-header sketch challenge layout is perfect! Love the colors that highlight your beautiful mother so well, and the poem is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the brush tool, Diane. It really adds some pizzazz to the background image. It's a gorgeous page to celebrate your mother. Thanks for playing along with MDS Monday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful page - I love that you've used the flower in place of the circle from the sketch, and the light colouring behind it! The poem in the a slightly darker colour than the background is subtle and beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us at MDS Monday.
