Rooted Light

I decided to have some fun with the evergreen tree stamps within in the 'Rooted In Nature' stamp set. I inked the stamps in Mossy Meadow and stamped them on Old Olive cardstock. I then used the fine-tip glue pen to add glue to some of the branches. Then, with the White Emboss Powder, I sprinkled it on and then used the Heat Tool. Because I was using glue.... it did bubble up when heated. When cool, it does go down, but still has that raised look of regular embossing. Cool...snow covered trees!

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Stamp Sets - Rooted In Nature, Star of Light
Ink - Memento, Mossy Meadow
Paper - Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White, Merry Little Christmas DSP

I fell in love with this 'Painted Harvest' stamp set as it can be used for Thanksgiving and then again for Christmas! Possibly spring too!

To achieve this great two-tone color on the wreath... the larger stamp was inked in Soft Sea Foam and the smaller (defining) stamp was inked in Old Olive.

I paired it with the sentiment from 'Four the Holidays' stamp set (an oldie, but a goodie!).

Light Snowfall

I wanted to create a snowflake card that wasn't blue, but sort of silver in color. I had some leftover 'Brushed Silver' cardstock (SU). It does look more gray than silver, but it worked for my card!

For the background, I used a sponge dauber and sponged on Smoky Slate ink for a winter sky background.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Star of Light
Ink - Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Paper - Brushed Silver, Whisper White
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Snowfall dies, glue dots, sponge daubers, silver thread (non-SU), Wink of Stella

Seasonal Snowfall

I saw this idea on Pinterest where you place strips of colored cardstock for the background, and place die-cut pieces in the front. So, had to create one for my Christmas Card collection of cards!

Wildlife Greetings

Just purchased the 'Woodland' embossing folder from Stampin' Up!. I loved the technique used of stamping on the embossing folder and then running it through the Die-Cut/Emboss Machine to emboss. So, I just had to try this for myself.

Now, it did take me a few tries to get the look that I wanted. The first one... the deer was in the middle of the panel. Which, would have been fine, but I wanted it offset a bit. The second try... I miscalculated and the deer ended up on the left-hand side. Ha! I forgot the image is reversed from what I stamped/embossed. Anyway... the third time was the charm.

To achieve this, I stamped the deer image onto the embossing folder. Stamp on the side where the embossed part is indented (not the embossed part being above the folder). Next, place your cardstock where you want the deer to show. Emboss as you would normally. Once done, remove cardstock from folder and sponge (I used Crumb Cake) onto the trees to make them stand out a bit from the background.

Huh! I just realized that I embossed the trees upside down. The tiny branches are going downward instead of upward. Weird, because what I thought of as the bottom... the tree trunks get bigger (which isn't the case in real trees!). Well, I'm happy with the end result! I'm sure no one will realize they're upside down....will they?

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Swirly Birthday

I liked Sandy Hancock's musical note card.... found on Pinterest. Thanks Sandy for your clever idea! I changed mine up a bit. Instead of circles for the notes, I chose ovals (well, they're actually balloons - I just cut the opening from the balloon bottom. I also added silver glitter paper to make the card not so black and white.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Ink - Memento
Paper - Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glitter
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Swirly Scribbles dies, Party Punch Trio (balloon), dimensionals, scissors

Your Home

When I saw Melissa's card (right).... it was such a unique way to die-cut, I just had to try one for myself.  As you can see with my card on the left, I changed colors and sentiments to make it my own. Thanks Melissa for your inspiration!

I first stamped the lighthouse onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I die-cut the light house to where the lighthouse meets the ground. Then, I die-cut the circle shape, stopping close to the bottom. I did have to use scissors to cut the circle and lighthouse the rest of the way - as I didn't want to die-cut too much to begin with.

For the sky background, I used sponge daubers with the colors Balmy Blue, Rich Razzleberry and Seaside Spray.  Then, I coated the background with Wink of Stella to add the shimmer before stamping the seabirds.

Thanks so much fro dropping by!
