Confirmation Letter

I created my Confirmation letter to my nephew in My Digital Studio, so that I could create this cross and have a wonderful font too!

I had created a similar cross for my niece, a while back, for her  First Holy Communion.  You may view her's here: Holy Communion Letter and where I got the idea to even attempt making this cross in MDS.

Thanks for looking!

Recipe for Cross:
- Scallop Trim Corner Punch
- Scallop Trim Border Punch
- Elementary Elegance bird
- Basic Pearl

1. Place 4 Scallop Trim Corner punches to make a cross.  Add the drop shadow.
2. Place 2 Scallop Trim Border punches to make the cross stem longer. (Crop the punch so that it's not too long of a stem.) =)
3. Add Bird.  Copy and Paste (in place and move offset in Black) to create a mat around bird.
4. Add Basic Pearl (recoloring it Black).  Keep recoloring it Black until you get the shade of gray you want/like.

Paradise Inn

Whoo hoo! Two more pages complete in my 2010 photobook! Working still on our trip to Mt Rainier with my little brother.

Thanks for looking!

I tried to make the background resemble snow with the Natural Compositions Overlay.

Supplies used: My Digital Studio, unless otherwise noted

Background: Whisper White
Stamp Brush Set - Natural Composition Overlays #9 (Sahara Sand at 47% opacity)
Embellishments - Walk in the Park II (leaves and leaf border)
Punch - Square (filled w/ Woodland Walk #4)
Font - Cerebral (Whisper White and Island Indigo)

Mt Rainier

Hmmm... for some reason I forgot to scrapbook July 2010! Yikes! So I'm going back to completing that before I move on to December 2010.
My brother (Dan) and his then girlfriend (Sam) came to vacation with us in the Pacific Northwest.  We've been on several vacations together, and let's just say.... I love my little brother.  Dan is 14 years younger than I am.... so I helped to raise him when he was little.  Anyway, we decided that we would drive to Mt Rainier and hike around the trails there.  Little did we know that there was still mounds of snow on the trails.  It was July!  We did have fun even though we couldn't hike the trails.
Here are two pages, so far, of our trip.

I tried to make the background (on my pages) to resemble snow.  I used the Natural Composition Overlays, colored them Sahara Sand and dropped the opacity to 47%.

Supplies used:  My Digital Studio software, unless otherwise noted

Background - Whisper White
Stamp Brush Set - Natural Composition Overlays #9 (Sahara Sand at 47% opacity)
Embellishments - Walk in the Park II (leaves and leaf border), Baker's Twine (Baja Breeze recolored Island Indigo)
Punch - Square (filled w/ Woodland Walk DSP #4)
Font - Cerebral (Island Indigo)

Hilton

Whew! I believe this is the last two-page spread of our Waikiki vacation in October 2010.  We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which was right on the beach....beautiful! We did actually stay in the Rainbow Tower too....how cool is that!  We were glad we only stayed at this hotel two days, though.  The Hilton employees decided to strike while we were there.... not a fun relaxing trip when you hear their chants, and no cleaning service, and no room service.  But we made the best of it.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies used: My Digital Studio software (unless otherwise noted)

Background paper - Sycamore Street DSP #5
Embellishments - Sycamore Street (ribbon - Island Indigo)
Punch - Square (filled w/ Sycamore Street #7)
Stamp Brush Sets - Vintage Overlays (Island Indigo), Oh Whale (waves - Island Indigo)
Font - Civilian (Island Indigo)

Working on my 2010 photobook again, I am pleased that these two pages came together so quickly to me.  I believe it's because I already had the background paper and embellishments already picked out (these go along with my other Hawaii pages that I've made already!).

Thanks for taking a peek!

Perfect Medallions - SCCSC159

Saw this fun sketch on Stampin' Connection (SCCSC159), so I decided to use it to make a 'Get Well' card for my Mom.  She's gone through so much already with her pancreatic cancer.... now to make matters worse, she has a kidney stone too.  Luckily, it's just one kidney stone, so it should pass in the next day or so. Love you Mom! =)

I also submitted this card for the Sunday Stamps Color Challenge (SSC37 - Whisper White, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight).  You may view their challenge here: Sunday Stamps - SSC37

Hawaii Flowers

Okay, I really need to get moving on my 2010 photobook.  I'm still working on October 2010! The struggle, I think for me, is that I have so many beautiful photos (that my loving husband takes)... it's really hard to pick the ones that I want to scrapbook.  <--- Although, the more photos I have to work with the better my photobook will be in the end! =)

So, this is the second page in our Waikiki vacation in October of 2010.  If you'd like to view the first page (that I made a month ago) click here: Waikiki -PCCSS002

Stampin Connection has a new sketch challenge this week (SCCSC158).  Many cards that I have seen lately have spring colors in them..... I so want spring to be here, so I used spring colors in my card.

Birthday Star

I wanted to create something using the 'Lemonade Stand' SAB 2013 disc that I received for free (after spending $50 on Stampin Up products, of course!).
I cropped the 'Happy Birthday' stamp, so that I could place them in line together. I grouped them together and copy and pasted to create the border you see here.
I printed this on Naturals White cardstock, matted with Night of Navy and placed it on Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Brush Set - Lemonade Stand (words - Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Whisper White)
Punch - Star (Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy and Old Olive), Flag (Night of Navy)

Amazing Father

Remember how I wanted to create "Word Art" for my Father, as I did for my Mom (Seen Here!).
Well, I did it, and boy was it so much faster to do than the first one.  For one, I kept many of the same words. For second, I was able to type the whole word out rather than individual letters! Yay!
Here it is:
I used My Digital Studio software, and printed it on Naturals White cardstock.

Punch - Cog (Bashful Blue)

I struggled a bit to get the background stamp just right.  Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig helped tremendously! =)

Summer Banner - SCCSC156

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I created this card for my niece using the Stampin Connection Card Sketch Challenge (SCCSC156).
I wanted to use the least amount of layers as possible.  So with my Stamp-a-ma-jig in hand, as well as the masking technique... I think I did it!
I stamped the wire background in Soft Suede, then created a mask (on a scrap piece) to cover it.  I, then, took the Summer Silhouette leaves and stamped them in Lucky Limeade, and followed it by stamping the flowers in Calypso Coral.  I then added the taffeta ribbon along the edge of the background and the leaves, so it hid the rough edges of the stamping.  I finished the card by creating the Itty Bitty Banner and attached it using the dimensionals.

Stamp Sets - Summer Silhouettes, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper - Calypso Coral, Natural White
Ink - Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede
Accessories - Big Shot, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Taffeta Ribbon (Early Espresso), dimensionals, glue dot
