Flowers and Butterflies - JUGS189 & SCCSC169

Working on a few challenges this week.  My card incorporates two: (1) the Stampin Connection Card Sketch Challenge (SCCSC169) and (2) the 'Just Us Girls' color challenge (JUGS189).

Now, I do have to say that I did not have Cameo Coral to work with, so I substituted Crisp Cantaloupe for that color.  Not sure if you can see the difference (on the photo) of Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake on my card.... the Sahara Sand was used to mat the framelit and the embossed strip under the focal stamped image.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp sets: Best of Butterflies and Best of Flowers
Paper - Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand
Ink - Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessories - Eyelet Border Punch, Satin Ribbon (Whisper White), Vine Street TIEF, Perfect Polka Dots TIEF, Windows Collection Framelits, Big Shot, dimensionals

A Boho Greeting

I needed a cheerful card for my Mom today, so I used bright colors with the Boho Blossoms Punch. I decided to create another card using softer colors (leftovers from the punches) for a beautiful wedding card -- the colors match the colors in her bridal party.  Whoohoo! Two cards with one design.... SWEET!

I saw a lovely card, by Julie Gearinger, and found inspiration from her placement and layout.  You may view her card here: http://www.stampingwithjuliegearinger.blogspot.com/2013/05/clean-and-simple-roses-three-challenges.html

Array of Flowers - FMS86

I created this card using one of the Freshly Made Sketch (FMS86).  You may view their site here:

I rotated the layout to landscape, and used rhinestones instead of a ribbon.  I also used new Stampin' Up! products from the 2013-2014 Catalog (available on June 1st)!

Supplies Used:

Stamp Sets - A Round Array, Best of Flowers
Paper - Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Ink - Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush
Accessories - Basic Rhinestones, Lacy Brocade TIEF, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Corner Round Punch, Small Scallop Punch

Best Anniversary

Such a cute stamp for a cute couple celebrating their 57th anniversary, my husband's parents. It's fitting since Mike's Mom loves bluejays!

I wanted to use a few of my products from SU that I haven't used yet... the Lacy Brocade TIEF and the Best of Brides and Babies stamp set.  I even used the wording from that stamp set (to have and to hold forever and always) on the inside of the card!

Supplies:
Stamp set - Best of Brides and Babies
Paper - Pistachio Pudding, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Black Staz-on, Pistachio Pudding, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Rose Red

I created this for the MDS.net Challenge (April 2013 Downloads).  I colored in the ark using the freeform tool... it was A LOT of coloring, but I LOVE how it turned out! Beautiful Mother - MDSM12

Playing along with a few challenges today.  Once is from MDS Monday blog (MDSM12), they provided the sketch.... as well as.... the use of the Brush Tool.  You may view the challenge on their site here: MDSM12 .  The second is from the MDS.net site, they challenged us to use the retiring Stampin' Up colors, as well as, making a project for your Mom.

I chose to create a page centering around my mother and with the retiring SU colors Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose. The Brush Tool was used behind the background stamp -- coloring in a portion of that stamp (I should use the brush tool more often... it really adds to my page!). =)
The poem is from Helen Steiner Rice, and I found it on the internet.  Here are the words:

*********
A Mother’s love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.
*********
