Going Tropical

I really love how Sue Vine created her background. Its a great backdrop for the flowers and stems and creates dimension. Thanks so much for your inspiration Sue!

To create the background, I stamped the leaves in Versamark... then heat embossed with White Emboss Powder. Once that was done, I used a sponge dauber to gently add Crumb Cake ink to the background around the leaves. I added some sprays of dots using the stamp within the 'Beautifully Happy' stamp set.
The flowers are a blend of two colors - Mango Melody and Polished Pink. After inking the stamp in Mango Melody, I used a sponge dauber to ink just the edges of the stamp to get a blend of colors. I added a Wink of Stella' to each flower to make them shine. The last picture shows a bit of what the flowers look like (although, it looks so much better in person).

Thanks for dropping in!

Coastal Tropics

We went to a Labor Day/Luau Party over our cousin's home in California. What better way to say 'Thanks" than with the 'Tropical Chic' stamp set and coordinating Tropical dies. And... to add to the tropical theme.... I used the 'Coastal Weave' embossing folder.

As a note, the 'Coastal Weave' embossing folder's embossing goes horizontal. In order for me to make it a vertical piece, I cut Basic White cardstock in half. Then embossed each piece, then adhered it to the Mango Melon mat. The sentiment piece hides the cut edge from showing.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp set - Tropical Chic
Ink - Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Mango Melon
Paper - Granny Apple Green, Mango Melon, Old Olive, Basic White
Accessories - scissors, Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Coastal Weave embossing folder, Tropical dies, glue dots

Tropical Stone

Creating a few masculine cards this month. I used a monochrome color scheme here - Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. The stamp set used is 'Peaceful Moments' for the sentiment. I used two different embossing folders for the background, along with two die cut sets. For the sentiment piece, I did use a stylus to run the edge of the die along the paper to make it 'Pop'.

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy Tropics

I found Danielle Kassing's card on Pinterest... and wanted to create a similar one for myself. I felt that the white circle didn't do much to help you see the wording, so I changed mine to a navy oval to accommodate my sentiment. Thanks so much Danielle for your cute card... it inspired mine!

Tropical Banners

I fell in love with the colors on Korstan Del Rosario's card (right)... so I just had to create one of my own. My Uncle and his daughter (my cousin) are planning on going to Hawaii, so I thought a tropical birthday card was in order!  AND... I wanted it to be a bit masculine, so the blue/green combo was perfect! Thanks Korstan!

I paired the 'Tropical Chic' stamp set with the 'Birthday Banners' sentiment. The 'Bunch of Banners' Framelits coordinate with the set.

Thanks for dropping by! Aloha and Mahalo!
