Hutto - SE351

Working on another two-page spread for our 2012 photobook.  In March 2012, we took a trip to Texas to visit my sister and her family.  What was so cool, was that my parents came to visit that same week!  We had a lot of fun, and did many many things during our visit!  I had so many pictures too.... it was s hard to narrow it down to just a few. Whew!

I used a sketch I found online at Scrapbooks Etc (SE351).  I realize now that I look at the sketch, I didn't follow it exactly, but.... I did use it as inspiration.

I just want to point out what I did to achieve the lines underneath the title.  I used the Eclectic Overlays frame (same one as the background piece), but I cropped the stamp so just the lines showed.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used - My Digital Studio
Background - Cajun Craze
Embellishments - Taffeta Ribbon (Very Vanilla)
Stamp Brush Sets - Eclectic Overlays (Really Rust and Early Espresso); Torn Edges (eyelet border - Early Espresso); Moments Ago (words - Cajun Craze)

Legoland

Continuing work on our 2012 Photobook, with our California trip in February.  We went to Legoland with Mike's brother, Dan, and his family.  So many Legos -- What a fabulous place!

Since I did not have Lego inspired paper or embellishments..... I decided to create my own.  I started by creating the circle (green) and adding the 'Lego' text -- which was a free font I found online called 'Lego Thick'. I copied and pasted circles to create a row (aligned them and spaced evenly), then 'grouped' the row.  Then, I copied that row and pasted it down the page. Yes... a bit of work, but less than having to create each individual circle! Lastly, I placed the green background behind the circles. I did this the same way for the red, yellow and blue embellishments!

Thanks so much for looking!

Supplies Used - My Digital Studio
Background - Whisper White
Punch - Circle (Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Summer Sun); Square (Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Summer Sun)
Font - GeoMetr231 (Brilliant Blue)

Created a page for our 2012 scrapbook using a sketch I found on the MDS Monday Blog (MDSM41). The Challenge is over, but I still liked the sketch!  You may view the challenge here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/11/mdsm41-lets-get-out-bling.html

In February 2012, Mike and I went to California to visit family.  We spent a few days at Disneyland...and had a great time....even though it was a bit chilly.

Tropical - MDSM43

I started working on my inside pages for our 2012 photobook.  With the first page (after the cover).... I used a photo(s) from our 2012 Hawaiian Cruise in October, and really liked how it turned out.
I like it so well, that I'm now thinking it needs to become a double page spread (so, not to be used as the first page of my photobook).  It's so wonderful to be working digitally, as I can rearrange pages with just the click of the mouse!!!!

Now with this page, I used a sketch that I found on the MDS Monday blog (MDSM43).  You may view the challenge here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/12/mdsm43-lots-of-layers.html

I will create the second page to this double page spread a bit later in my digital 2012 photobook plans.... I'll post it when I get chance.

2012 Cover Page - MDSM42

I decided to start working on my 2012 Photobook...... I know, I know..... I'm way behind. 2013 is almost over and we're ready to ring in the New Year 2014! But.... I'm determined to get caught up...... EVENTUALLY! =)

I was intrigued by the sketch and technique challenge on the MDS Monday Blog.  Along with the sketch.... they asked us to convert one of our stamps to a punch.  Clever -right?  Well, you may view the challenge here on their blog -- As well as -- the link to the video tutorial on how to change your stamp brush sets to punches: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/11/mdsm42-stamp-to-punch-with-card-sketch.html

I used the papers in the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Papers for my page.  I decided to convert my "moments" stamp brush to a punch.  This way it seems like the the year and words were just punched out of the 'soft suede' cardstock by seeing the background paper underneath! Cool!

You can see some wording going down the left side of my page (sort of off the paper).... well, don't worry.  It's meant to be there.  It's part of my cover page -- it'll show on the spine of my photobook when I'm complete!

Thanks for taking a peek!

My Digital Studio
Background Paper - Elegant Soiree #7
Punch - Square (Soft Suede); Flag (Very Vanilla); Timeless Type Junior Numbers (Elegant Soiree #7); Moments Ago - words (Elegant Soiree #7)

Minecraft Birthday

My nephew loves to play Minecraft, so I decided to create a card with a Minecraft person (he doesn't like Creeper).

I used My Digital Studio to create the effect of a pix-elated person using square punches. I then printed it out on Whisper White cardstock and finished it by matting on Creamy Caramel and Midnight Muse Cardstock.

I noticed that after I printed it.... my colors seem darker than in my MDS software....hmmm... I'll need to look into correcting that.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
My Digital Studio
Punch - Square (filled w/ Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel, Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake, Basic Black)

Wonderfall You - PP172

I created this card for my Aunt, as she will be going through chemo treatments to combat a rare blood disorder (they say it's not cancer..... so it's very curable with treatment! Thank the Lord!).

I used the theme of leaves from the Paper Players Challenge on their blog (PP172).  You may view the challenge here: http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2013/11/challenge-172-cas-with-leaves-from-nance.html

I also used a sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog (SFF101813).  The challenge is over with, but the layout was a great one..... so I kept it to use at a later time. You may view that challenge here: http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/2013/10/sff101813.html

After I created my card.... I was thinking it would look a lot better with a texture to the Early Espresso background. Hmmm...what do you think?

Deb's 2014-2015 Calendar

My sister needed a desktop calendar, and thought of me and the My Digital Studio software.  I had never created an easel calendar before, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I was impressed that you could create two years worth of pages for this calendar.... and it's cheaper than a regular 8.5x11 size!  True, the pages are smaller 4x6, and the month pages are smaller to write in (if you wanted to add names and such).  I used a symbols for birthdays, wedding anniversaries, Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, etc....so it worked out well.

Here are her pages that I created using animal photos from the various zoos we've been to in our travels. Calendar 2014....is shown on the left hand side, and Calendar 2015 is shown on the right (....in backwards order)!

Thanks for taking a peek!
