MDS Fireplace

For this weeks challenge on the My Digital Studio.net website is to use the digital downloads that were released in September on your project.  Well, the only September digital download I purchased was the "Festive Blooms", so that was what I had to work with.

I decided to create a Christmas card, and made a fireplace out of punches (filling them in with the Well Worn DSP).

I think it turned out cute.

2013 Calendar

This year, I wanted to create an 8.5x11 calendar for my parents with My Digital Studio software. The calendar itself was pretty easy.....trying to find photos of Mom and Dad together - not so easy. I planned on using a focal photo....one that showed places that they have been, and then a couple of photos of Mom and Dad together on each page.

I hope they are as excited about this calendar as I was in creating it.

Happy Harvest - SFF082412

I saw Allison Chilton's card on Pinterest, and fell in love with the design.  I decided to try creating a similar card with My Digital Studio software.

I noticed my card layout followed the sketch on Sketch Frenzy Friday (SFF082412) blog too.

In tried to create an embossed-look in the background with the chicken wire stamp (same color as the background....whisper white, but played with the drop shadow....opacity to 85% and blur to -2).
I also cropped the ribbon (so that it only showed the overlapped part) and the sentiment (so that I could place it on one line instead of two).

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Brush Sets - Elementary Elegance (sentiment - Early Espresso), Autumn Harvest (pinecone - Early Espresso), Autumn Elements (flourish - Old Olive), Bunch of Backgrounds (chicken wire - Whisper White)
Punches - Square (filled with Soft Suede and Textured Cardstock - Cajun Craze)

Create a page using angles.

Check out the challenge here:

Family - SCIC58

This weeks' challenge on MyDigitalStudio.net is to create a page that has 10 or more photos on it.

Surprisingly, I did not have any scrapbook pages that had more than 9 photos in anything that I have created thus far, so the challenge was on.

Also, I submitted this for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge (SCIC58).
You can view all the projects created with it here:
SCIC58

I decided to make a Schwab Family Tree page, and really like how this page turned out. (I will probably mirror this page to create a Malcor Family Tree too, but those photos will be harder to come by). =)

Thanks so much for taking the time to view my page!

Snoqualmie Falls - DGSC080

I started working on the Digi-Scrap Challenge (DGSC080- Recipe Challenge). You may see the challenge here: DGSC080-Recipe Challenge

The recipe is to:
-Choose three photos
-Background is black & white
-Add a tag
-Create a list
-Use a layered embellisment

This challenge was tough for me, but I love how this page turned out.
-I used three photos from our trip to Snoqualmie Falls and changed them all to black and white.
-I used a white background with a Stamp Brush Set Overlay (Decorative Overlay).
-I added a tag, and created a list on that tag.
-I layered the tag with a mat, added an eyelet and then a bow.

Stamp Brush Set - Decorative Overlay (set at 30% opacity)
Photo mats - Basic Black
Font - Multu (first letter in title only) all else is Regency (Basic Black)

Tradition Lake

I started out by working on a Digi-Scrap Challenge on SCS, but aside from 3 photos....it doesn't even come close to adhering to the challenge. Ha! I guess I will have to work on that challenge later.
I really like how this page came together, and now it's got me thinking about making a calendar for 2013 with places Mike and I have been in 2012. Well, I better get cracking if I want to complete it before 2013 starts....I got this one page done! LOL!

Kubota Gardens

My Digital Studio.net site has a new challenge. This week it's a Sketch (Scrap Map 1). The winner of this challenge will receive a free digital download (from the following weeks' offerings)! How cool is that!
I changed the sketch up a bit by using the Festive Blooms instead of the hexagon shape, and I rounded a few corners on the photos.
I re-colored the Knots and Ties Trim from Wild Wasabi to Lucky Limeade, and some of the Festive Flowers - flower #6 - to Calypso Coral.  A few of the Knots and Ties Trim were cropped to show only the curled ribbon and not the bow under the flowers. (Do you notice a shadow, at the top of the page, where no ribbon is? I believe that is a glitch in MDS2, it doesn't appear while working in the software, but it showed up when I exported it as a JPG file to my desktop ...I do hope it gets fixed soon)
Thanks for looking!

Winter Messages

Trying to come up with a simple card that can be mass produced for my Christmas cards is not always easy.  I really like how this card came out....just not sure I want to spend all the time required to make 65 of these beauties!

Although, it wasn't too bad....I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the background layer, as well as holly and sentiment.  I'm such the perfectionist....why can't I just be happy if it's a bit crooked! Ha! =)

Thanks for looking!

Decorative Holiday - SCCSC135

Back in my crafting area after our long extended weekend! I saw this sketch on Stampin Connection and thought it went well with the Delightful Decorations stamp set. I originally had a Cherry Cobbler ornament, but I felt that it blended in too much with the striped piece I created.  The striped piece was made by shredding a piece of Cherry Cobbler and attaching in diagonally on Very Vanilla cardstock.
