Timeless Party

At first, I created the card on the right for my brother. I wasn't quite sure the colors were masculine enough, so changed the flower to Pretty Peacock. Much better, but still not something a brother would love to receive. So... decided to give this card to my niece who will be going to Florida in a few weeks.

The background is of my own creation. I mixed Pretty Peacock with Old Olive to have the background leaves have some variations of color. They came out more Garden Green when mixed! HA.... who knew!

I added a 'Wink of Stella' to the flower and the pineapple to give it some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Tropical Chic, Timeless Tropical, Punch Party
Ink - Pretty Peacock, Old Olive, Mango Melon, Soft Suede
Paper - Whisper White, Soft Suede

Thoughtful Ferns

This is such a great technique for a quick card. To achieve this look, lightly adhere (because you will need to take these layers apart) two pieces of Basic White cardstock on top of each other (centered). You can choose dimensions in a variety of sizes.... mine are: 3.5x 4.75in and 2.25x 3.5in.
Stamp the leaf images over both the layers of cardstock. Gently, pull the layers apart and mat them in a coordinating color -- my choice was Mossy Meadow. I finished it off by attaching it to a Soft Sea Foam card base.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Tropical Chic, Forever Fern, Sending You Thoughts
Ink - Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow
Paper - Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow, Basic White

Failed Attempt

When I saw Justine Hovey's card.... I said what a cool technique. So, I attempted and failed miserably with my card. Not sure how she was able to get a cool bright color within the petals. I even colored mine with a white colored pencil and it didn't show as bright at all.

I felt that I had to showcase my failures as well as my successes to show everyone sometimes fails. You just have to keep working on it. Now, I may attempt this technique again, but just maybe not with Navy cardstock.... maybe something lighter.

Thanks for taking a look though!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Happy Thoughts, So Much Love
Ink - Versamark
Paper - Night of Navy, Gold Foil
Accessories - Heat Tool, Gold Embossing Powder, Colored Pencils (Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Whisper White), Paper Trimmer

Best Love

Jill Chapman's card is lovely in black and white! I wanted to create one of my own, but with color. I used the same 'True Love' Designer Series Paper -- just different flower bundles and background piece. YES... the flowers are from a DSP not a stamp. The only stamp here is the sentiment -- from 'Best Year' stamp set.

I added 'Wink of Stella' to make the petals sparkle.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Best Year
Ink - Memento, Stampin' Blends (Seaside Spray, Old Olive, Cinnamon Cider)
Paper - Seaside Spray, Whisper White, Basic Black, True Love DSP

Vibrant Bands

I so wanted to utilize the sentiment stamp in the 'Bloom & Grow' stamp set. The flower sprays that came with it were too huge for my card orientation, so I had to find a smaller image. In comes the 'Vibrant Vases' stamp set.... I stamped three on a piece of Basic White, colored them in and fussy cut them with scissors. Perfect for the orientation of my card.

I wanted to use the other band die that came with the 'Detailed Bands' die set... so it made a subtle background. I added a 'Wink of Stella' to the flowers to make them shine.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Bloom and Grow, Vibrant Vases
Ink - Early Espresso, Stampin' Blends (Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent)
Paper - Pale Papaya, Early Espresso, Basic White
Accessories - scissors, Wink of Stella, Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Detailed Bands dies, Tasteful Labels dies, Layered Leaves Embossing Folder

Poppy Thoughts

I really loved the  'Poppy Moments' dies when I saw them in the catalog, but they gave me trouble with the intricate parts and in trying to glue them to my projects. When I saw the Adhesive Sheets in the catalog.... I just knew that my frustrations would be over!

The way the adhesive sheets work is to cut a piece the size of the die needed. Take off the backing and adhere the sticky part to the cardstock that you want to die-cut. Next die-cut it. Now that it's die-cut... remove the other side to reveal the sticky part on the cardstock and adhere it to your project. Perfect every time!

I used 'Wink of Stella' on the inside parts of the flower petal to make it shine... Surprisingly, you can see this in my photo (most of my photos, you can't see this). I used a stylus to make the sentiment die-cut shape 'pop' too.

Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp set- Happy Thoughts
Ink - Memento
Paper - Basic White, So Saffron, Basic Black
Accessories - scissors, stylus, Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Stone embossing Folder, Hippo and Friends dies, Poppy Moments dies, Wink of Stella, adhesive sheets, dimensionals, glue dots

Anchor Stone

A masculine 'Get Well' for someone who has pneumonia. It definitely is a storm of life. I used the color combo Smoky Slate/Misty Moonlight/Basic Black.

This card came together easily...as both stamps are from the 'Sailing Home' stamp set. I paired it with the Stone embossing folder for the background. The sentiment piece is a die-cut from 'Smooth Sailing' -- one that coordinates with the Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Sailing Home
Ink - Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate
Paper - Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight, Basic Black, Basic White
Accessories - Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Smooth Sailing dies, stylus, Baker's twine, dimensionals, Stone Embossing Folder

Roblox Birthday

My sister-in-law's kids are obsessed with Roblox, so it's only appropriate to design a birthday card for my nephew with Roblox on it. I found the image online (free printable). I printed it on Basic White cardstock and finished the card the traditional way with different papers and an embossing folder.

The background is the 'Stone' Embossing Folder.

Thanks for looking!

Sailing Tide

I saw a similar card where the oval cut around the lighthouse, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. I die-cut a portion of the oval.... then, with scissors, snipped the rest close to the lighthouse.

I incorporated two different stamp sets together to achieve the sailing scene I wanted. 'High Tide was used with 'Sailing Home'. I colored in the images using Stampin' Blends markers.

Thanks for taking a look.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - High Tide, Sailing Home, Big on Birthdays
Ink - Smoky Slate, Early Espresso, Memento, Stampin' Blends (Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Color Lifter)

Mothers Day 2021

I really liked the idea of the fun-fold card here from Mary Ann Cowan. I loosely used her layout/design to create my Mother's Day cards for my Mother-in-law, my God-Mother and my Best Friend's Mom.

The color combos for the flowers are: Melon Mambo/Flirty Flamingo, Rich Razzleberry/Seaside Spray and Daffodil Delight/Calypso Coral. The leaves are combo -Granny Apple Green/Garden Green.

To achieve the soft look to the flowers and leaves, I used this technique. First color in the darker portion of the stamp with a Stampin' Write marker (in this case, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral. Next, ink the stamp in it's coordinating lighter color (lightly). Then stamp on paper.... cleaning stamp after each image is complete. I added a 'Wink of Stella' to the flowers to get them to sparkle.

The sentiment frames are from 'Potted Succulents' dies and 'Hippo and Friends' dies. With the Hippo and Friends dies.... don't forget to added some additional dimension by flipping the die upside-down and running a stylus around the inner edge.

Thanks for taking a look!

I special shout-out to Barb O'Neill for her beautiful cards! Thanks to Barb and her lovely layout, I was able to create a beautiful card for my Aunt using the 'True Love' Designer Series Paper. As you can see, I used different papers that were in the pack. The flowers are from that same Designer Series Paper. YES! I did cut the flowers out with scissors.

I used some 'Wink of Stella' to make the petals of the flowers sparkle.

Thanks for dropping by!

A Touch of Happy

Seeing Patti Dolan's card on Pinterest.... I just knew I had to create something similar with the stamps that I had. Thanks Patti for your inspiration!  As you can see, I changed the flowers and background to make this card my own, but gave credit to Patti.... as this was her layout and colors.

I embossed the background with the the 'Stone' Embossing Folder.

The flowers and leaves were cut out using scissors and colored in using the Stampin' Blends markers. For the flowers I used Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya and the leaves Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.

The 'Tasteful Labels' die was die-cut, then flipped over and a stylus was used around the edges of the die to make it 'pop'.

I used 'Wink of Stella' on all the flowers to make them shine.
