Sports Birthday

Our nephew has played many sports throughout the years, so I wanted to create something around the theme of sports.  When I saw Martha Inchley's card... I just had to try to recreate it.
Here is Martha's card:
While, Martha used letter die-cuts and stamps or DSP underneath each letter, I wanted to use my digital software. Thanks Martha for your inspiration!

First, I created my own DSP (Designer Series Paper) within the software using the Stamp Brush Set - Great Sport. For each individual letter, I created a different sport theme paper (well, as you can see... I used the basketball one twice on my card).  Now that the DSP was done, it was just a matter of aligning the letter punches on the paper and filling them with the newly designed DSP.  I made the background a gray color, so that the 'c' and 'r' would stand out from the background.

I then printed the panel on Whisper White cardstock and finished the card by matting it on Basic Black cardstock and then on to the Pumpkin Pie card front.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Brush Set - Great Sport
Font - Arial Black (Basic Black)

Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie

On The Field

For me, it's a bit difficult to create teen boy cards... especially when those teen boys do not play sports. However, my nephew does love football... and he plays on his high school football team. So, making this card for him was surprisingly easy.

I created the field and the football within My Digital Studio software... and then printed it out on Whisper White cardstock.  For the field, I covered the entire background with Gumball Green. Then, for the yard lines I used a square punch filled w/Whisper White.  I finished off by adding the number punches (Timeless Type Junior Numbers)in Whisper White.

Next, I created the football. It's from the 'Great Sport' digital download and colored it Soft Suede.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Brush Set - Great Sport (Soft Suede)
Background - Gumball Green
Punch - Square (filled w/Whisper White); Timeless Type Junior Numbers (Whisper White)
Paper - Whisper White, Soft Suede

Great Sports Wish

Since most of my sports "stamps" are within My Digital Studio, I used it to create the card you see here.

I laid the background image down (in Basic Black).  I decided to use the color tool to color the stars Daffodil Delight.  I used a circle punch (filled w/Tangelo Twist) to color the middle portion of the stamp.  Then I added the basketball stamp on top.

I printed the page on Whisper White, matted it with Daffodil Delight and attached it to Night of Navy cardstock.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Brush Sets - Great Sports, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Coloring tool - colored stars Daffodil Delight
Punch - Circle (filled w/Tangelo Twist)
Paper - Night of Navy, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

Slam Dunk Birthday - FCC7

I noticed that my card fit the Paper Players Card Challenge (PP146) - Masculine Cards.  You may view the challenge and all the submissions here: http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2013/05/challenge-146-anns-clean-and-simple.html

Another sketch challenge that has closed before I got my card in, but loved the sketch!!!! Here is the link to the Fusion Card Challenge (FCC7): http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/05/fusion-card-challenge-hypothesis-7.html

I created this card in My Digital Studio, and printed it out on Whisper White Cardstock before matting it on Basic Black and attaching it to Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.

Great Sport Hybrid - SSSC179

I created this card from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC179).  You may view their blog here: Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I created the baseball portion in MDS, then printed it on Whisper White cardstock.  I have to say using the Freeform Paint Brush tool on the strings of the baseball was very time-consuming.... I should have just colored them in with a marker after I printed it. LOL!

Thanks for taking a peek!
