Liberty - DGSC112

Continuing with my 2011 photobook.... here we are in Philadelphia in May 2011.  For me, this was the first time seeing the Liberty Bell, as well as, Independence Hall where the US Constitution was signed.  Such rich history we have.... all the freedoms, the rights of the people.... it all started here!  Proud to be an American!

This double-page spread went nicely with the Digi-Scrap Challenge on Splitcoaststampers - Patriotic Everyday DGSC112.  You may view the challenge here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking-f253/patriotic-every-day-year-dgsc112-t574907.html

Continuing with my 2011 Photobook (I'm working on April now), here is a double-page spread on our trip to Kentucky in the springtime.  Spring flowers are my favorite, and getting to see our God-daughters was an extra blessing on this short visit there.

Milestone

Decided that I need to take a break from cards, to work on my 2011 photobook.  Yes! Still working on getting myself up-to-date.  Not sure what my hang-up is.... I love playing with My Digital Studio, yet I can't seem to get myself motivated to get my pages complete.  I need to push myself and give myself a deadline.... I'd like to get this photobook complete before this year ends (hopefully sooner)! =)

I used the Splitcoaststampers Digi-Scrap Challenge (DGSCPR0012Task 1-4) to complete the first page. After that, I expanded it to create a double-page spread.  If you'd like to view the challenge, here's the link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking-f253/progressive-challenge-12-%96-task-4-05-28-13-a-t573609.html

I also incorporated the My Digital Studio.net Challenge.  To use arrows in your project.

Getting inspiration from sketches have helped me 'think outside the box'.  I've created some amazing cards, and I'm so thankful for all the inspiration that is out there online.

I used two challenges to complete this card.

I needed a quick thank you card to go along with a billing info document.  So I used a design that I used (and CASED) a while ago and just made it work on a 4x8.5 size card.

Stamp set - Bloomin' Marvelous, Best of Greetings

I liked the sketch so much that I decided to create two cards, with different colors, for both my Grandma's.  The colors are representative of the colors that they like.  I'm so grateful that they are still living (one will be 91 and the other 97!).

That's so much for stopping by!

Flower Spotlight - Fusion#11

Using the Fusion Card Challenge (Fusion#11), I created my card.  You may view the Fusion Challenge here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/06/fusion-hypothesis-11.html

Also, I noticed that my card fit the challenge on Stampin' Celebration too (SCIC67)! (How cool is that!). You may view that challenge here: http://stampincelebrationblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/scic-67.html

I used My Digital Studio to create the background piece with the chevrons and flag piece. I used Whisper White cardstock to print it out, then finished my card the traditional stamping way.

Medallion Greetings - FMS90

Using the Freshly Made Sketch (FMS90), I made this cute wedding card!

I had a bit of trouble embossing the red piece, since the embossing folder went horizontal instead of the way you see here.  The edge of the embossing folder flattened a portion that I had just embossed.  I used a stylus tool (on the back of the piece) to pop the hearts back up.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Daydream Medallions, Best of Greetings, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper - Naturals Ivory, Real Red
Ink - Soft Suede, Real Red
Accessories - Basic Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Big Shot, Floral Frames Framelits, Adorning Accents TIEF, dimensionals

Butterfly Greetings - FTL244

I created this card for my Mom, and I used the Clean & Simple Sketch (FTL244).  You may view the challenge here: http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com/2013/06/244.html

I created a mask for the butterfly (on scrap paper), so that I could stamp the flower stamp over the butterfly without going over it with ink.  I think the new ruffled ribbon really adds so much to my card as a frame.
Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Best of Butterflies, Best of Greetings, Flowering Flourishes
Paper - Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Ink - Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories - Stretch Ruffled Trim (Pistachio Pudding)
Technique Used - Masking

Besties - DGSC111

I created this page for the Splitcoaststampers Challenge - DGSC111 - June Themes + Color Challenge.  It called us to use a theme for the month of June.... I used 'Best Friends Day' -- which was on June 8th this year.  Also, it asked us to use the colors Coral, Blue and Sand.... I used Calypso Coral, Marina Mist and Crumb Cake.

The poem I used was found on the internet, and here is what it says:

The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
when you feel down.
The best of friends,
Will understand,
Your little trials,
And lend a hand.
The best of friends,
Will always share,
Your secret dreams,
Because they care.
The best of friends,
Worth more than gold,
Give all the love,
A heart can hold.
Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Background - Textured Cardstock (Calypso Coral)
Stamp Brush Set - Presto Patterns Overlays (Very Vanilla)
Punch - Flag (filled w/Crumb Cake)
Text - Adorable (Marina Mist and Very Vanilla)

Ornament Magnet

My brother and his fiancee will be getting married in December... and wanted some 'Save the Date' magnets to mail in July.
They asked if I could make an ornament shape.... and I was able to find a Sissix die that would suit my/their needs perfectly.  I created a 4x6 print in My Digital Studio, printed them out on photo paper, attached them to the 4x6 magnet sheets, and then ran them through the ornament die.  Time-consuming when you need to make 200, but so well worth it.... as it will be a lasting reminder of my brother and his fiancee.  Love them!

Thanks for looking!

Background Paper - Christmas Cocoa II #11 (at 40% opacity)

Font - Vijaya and Altast Greeting (Whisper White)

I created this card using the Stampin' Connection Card Sketch Challenge (SCCSC172).  This will be their final sketch. Three wonderful ladies: Amanda, Liz and Susie were (and still are) such a great inspiration to me.  I've used their sketches many, many times to create amazing cards!  Thank you so very much ladies.... your sketches will be missed by me (but I know that I can always go back to previous sketches at any time).

Loss of Pet

A friend's dog passed away recently.... so sad for their family.  We will forever remember all the fond memories with him, as well.... he was such a cutie whenever we came over to visit.

I saw this punch art on several cards...created several different ways (on many places online).  I fell in love with the heart punch one for the main paw part.... as it shows the love we have for the little pug.

The card design is my own.

Supplies Used:
Stamp sets - Thoughts and Prayers
Paper - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink - Early Espresso
Accessories - Heart punch, Small Oval Punch, Taffeta Ribbon (Early Espresso)
