Bloom and Hug

 

As if 2020 could get any worse.... my sister-in-law needed to have surgery. Here's a card I made for her to cheer her up! The color combo I chose was Mango Melon, Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green. But, I added the Blackberry Bliss as I needed another color for the third flower I had on the stamp from 'Bloom & Grow'.

The sentiment is from 'Healing Hugs' stamp set.

I loved the simplicity of Tamara Bertram's card, and was inspired with the plaid piece background with the focal piece sentiment. I made a few changes to make the card my own.

The background piece measures 2 x 4.75.

The sentiment piece measures 3 x 1.75.

The card measures 4.25 x 5.5.

For our littlest niece.... she loves to get cards! 

A few things to note on this card.... although, the camera didn't pick it up.... I added Crystal Effects to the stamped snowflakes on the focal piece to give them more dimension and I added Wink of Stella to the die-cut snowflakes to make them sparkle! It really adds to the beauty of the card!

The background wooden piece measures 2 x 5.25 inches.

The focal piece measures 2.75 x 2 inches.

This is my take on the card showcased in the Stampin' Up! Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog on pg 35. 

As you can see I changed a few things along with adding Basic Black.

For the star in the sentiment, I colored the rhinestones with Bumblebee Stampin' Write marker to give it a more gold color.

Gorgeous Waterfront

 

Oh how I wish we were at the beach right now! LOL!

I LOVE how the 'Waterfront' stamp set provides many options to create wonderful scenes. I know this is a set I will continue to utilize long after it has retired. Glad it's not retired yet though!

I chose to make a beach theme. Since it's a card for my brother... I wanted a more masculine color scheme, too. So, I used the colors Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Coastal Cabana.

For the background, I used the Stone embossing folder. Now that I think on it... I could've used the Coastal Weave embossing folder to give it a more tropical feel.

Riding Thoughts

I saw Stephanie Fischer's card on Pinterest, and thought it was awesome that she used so many stamps from the 'Let It Ride' stamp set! I knew I had to create one for myself. Thanks Stephanie!

I used an aquapainter to paint in the grass background. Probably would've gotten a smoother background using the watercolor pencils or crayons. Oh well.... I used what I had on hand at the time.

I colored the horses with Stampin' Blends markers. I think the Cinnamon Cider hue was perfect for the horses! Now, I chose to use the sentiment from the 'Sending You Thoughts' stamp set instead of the one that says 'For You' in the 'Let It Ride' set.

Best Magnolia

 

Using the 'Good Morning Magnolia' stamp set, I stamped the larger magnolia onto opposite corners.... making sure one (the one on the upper left) showed more than the other (on the lower right). I then colored in the images with my Stampin' Blends markers. I chose Just Jade/So Saffron and Bronze.

The sentiment is a stamp from the 'Best Year' set, and I stamped it onto the 'Tasteful Labels' dies on So Saffron paper.

Flowering Moments

I wanted a simple yet elegant design for my Aunt's birthday card. With the 'Flowering Blooms' stamp set, this one flower stamp (along with it's coordinating 'Flowering' dies) are perfect for that simple touch. I used the 'Stitched Nested Labels' dies and the 'Peaceful Moments' stamp set for the sentiment piece.

The background is created using the Stone embossing folder.

I used dimensionals to make the sentiment piece 'pop' off the page, and add rhinestones for some bling. Oh.... I did color the rhinestones with my Stampin' Blends markers.

Almost done with scrapbooking all the parks we visited in September 2019. It seemed like we had this park to ourselves, as we didn't encounter any people on our walk in the trails. It could have been because it was a really hot day outside. Luckily, with all the tree... our walk was perfect!

Brick Fern

Using the 'Forever Fern' Stamp set with it's coordinating 'Forever Flourishing' dies, it was easy to create these Thanksgiving Day cards for my family. I paired it with the 'Brick & Mortar' embossing folder and the 'Tasteful Labels' dies to make the perfect card.

I used a sponge dauber with the Crumb Cake ink on the embossed background to make it more 'Autumn' looking.

The color combo I chose was Merry Merlot/Crushed Curry/Pretty Peacock. Accent colors are Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

Mugrage Park 2019

Working on another scrapbook page, and another park that we explored in the Medina County Parks system. We have been to this park before.... for a family reunion, but we hadn't walked the trails there. So this time we did! It was busier than the other parks we visited... mostly with people walking their dogs. It was a lovely day to get out of the house.

Another 2-page spread for our 2019 photobook. These are from September 2019.... where we made grape jelly with my Dad and his wife, Beverly. My Dad has 4 grapevines in his backyard that produce a lot of grapes. Along with making jelly, my Dad has made juice and this year.... tried his hand at making wine. Such a great family tradition to be a part of. My brother, Dan and his wife, Tracy.... along with their daughter, Eleanor, stopped by to lend a hand. What a wonderful tradition for little Eleanor to be a part of every year!

Continuing work on our 2019 photobook with our August 2019 hike in the Hubbard Valley Park... part of the Medina County Park District. It was close to the Western Reserve National Cemetery where my mom is laid to rest, so we stopped by to see her before going to the park. It was a nice day to get out and enjoy nature.

Chamberlins 2019

 

In August 2019, we were a part of the celebration for my neighbor's and friend's 70th wedding anniversary. What an achievement! What was so wonderful was all the family members who came to help celebrate their day! In the bouquet of flowers, each flower represented a family member -- wow! Such a large family they have!

I was honored to create the invitations for the event... and Mike and I loved being their to celebrate and to take photos.
