Brick Fern

Using the 'Forever Fern' Stamp set with it's coordinating 'Forever Flourishing' dies, it was easy to create these Thanksgiving Day cards for my family. I paired it with the 'Brick & Mortar' embossing folder and the 'Tasteful Labels' dies to make the perfect card.

I used a sponge dauber with the Crumb Cake ink on the embossed background to make it more 'Autumn' looking.

The color combo I chose was Merry Merlot/Crushed Curry/Pretty Peacock. Accent colors are Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

Always Thankful

I created a different Thanksgiving card for my littlest niece (she loves to get cards!). 

I used My Memories Suite to create this on Whisper White cardstock, then finished by matting it in Highland Heather - using a piece of Old Olive in the background - on a Cajun Craze base.

Mugrage Park 2019

Working on another scrapbook page, and another park that we explored in the Medina County Parks system. We have been to this park before.... for a family reunion, but we hadn't walked the trails there. So this time we did! It was busier than the other parks we visited... mostly with people walking their dogs. It was a lovely day to get out of the house.

Schwab Jelly 2019

 

Another 2-page spread for our 2019 photobook. These are from September 2019.... where we made grape jelly with my Dad and his wife, Beverly. My Dad has 4 grapevines in his backyard that produce a lot of grapes. Along with making jelly, my Dad has made juice and this year.... tried his hand at making wine. Such a great family tradition to be a part of. My brother, Dan and his wife, Tracy.... along with their daughter, Eleanor, stopped by to lend a hand. What a wonderful tradition for little Eleanor to be a part of every year!

Brunswick Lake 2019

Still working on our 2019 photobook... with a day spent at Brunswick Lake. This park is very special to our family... not only is it close to our home, but it has a memorial bench (dedicated to our Grandma Hynes). We see/sit on the bench whenever we go! These picture were taken in September 2019.

Hubbard Valley 2019

 

Continuing work on our 2019 photobook with our August 2019 hike in the Hubbard Valley Park... part of the Medina County Park District. It was close to the Western Reserve National Cemetery where my mom is laid to rest, so we stopped by to see her before going to the park. It was a nice day to get out and enjoy nature.

Chamberlins 2019

 

In August 2019, we were a part of the celebration for my neighbor's and friend's 70th wedding anniversary. What an achievement! What was so wonderful was all the family members who came to help celebrate their day! In the bouquet of flowers, each flower represented a family member -- wow! Such a large family they have!

I was honored to create the invitations for the event... and Mike and I loved being their to celebrate and to take photos.

Veterans' Day 2020

 

I am deeply appreciative for anyone who serves are great country. The sacrifice that they make in serving our country, and in making our country a better place is immense. With that thought, I honor all who serve, so Thank You! With each Veterans' Day... I show my appreciation to the servicemen in my family (all veterans now.... no one serving at this present time). My Father (Air Force), My Father-in-Law (Army), my Brother (Navy), and my 2 Brothers-in-Law (Navy).

I used the die cut shape from 'Lily Pad' dies, and the sentiment from 'Peaceful Moments' stamp set.

Flowering Celebrations

The 'Flowering Blooms' stamp set has 3 floral stamps, and I wanted to focus on the one stamp. I stamped the image several times moving it around the paper to create flowering bushes next to each other. The sentiment is a stamp from the 'Special Celebrations' set.

Using my Stampin' Blends markers, I colored the images in with Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.

Rooted Thoughts

 

I struggle a lot with masculine cards, as I tend to love working with floral and animal stamps more. With the help of Pinterest, and the cards I find on my Stampin' Connection website.... I can usually tweak a similar card and make it my own. With this card, I did just that. Found a card using the stump stamp with the two leaf stamps next to it (although, the placement is not the same as mine).  I added the sentiment on top. The rest of the card/layout is my own.

Birthday Leaves

 

Before I tell you how I created the leaf background, I do need to point out that you should never ink stamps with the Stampin' Blends markers. One.... it dries as soon as you apply it to the stamp - thus not giving the stamp the inking it needs to stamp. and Two.... the markers stained the photopolymer stamps.  (Can you guess how I figured this out? YES.... I did try and ink my stamps with the Stampin' Blends markers.) Now, the markers certainly didn't ruin the integrity of the stamp.... as I could still stamp with them, but wanted to share my experiece.

Okay.... on to how I was able to create this background. I used my Stampin' Write markers to color the stamp image. I applied Crumb Cake first, then Pear Pizzazz, and then lastly Pool Party onto the stamp. Then I stamped the image onto the cardstock. I repeated this process until I was happy with the amount of leaves on the cardstock piece.

I chose to cut the piece to length and width before stamping the leaves.
