Turtley Green

 

I loved the simplicity of Glenda Calkin's card, so wanted to create on for my niece. I changed the colors to reflect my niece's favorite color - Green! I added Wink of Stella to the shell of the turtle to make it shine.

The 'Artfully Layered' stamp set and its coordinating 'Tropical Layers' is a great set to create masculine cards. Using the right color scheme truly helps make it more masculine. Thanks to Jo Blackman and her card for giving me a layout to work with AND design. I changed a few things to make it my own.

I used the 'Peaceful Prints' DSP for the background piece.

Chris Smith's card was so lovely, I just had to create one for my sister-in-law.

I chose pink colors for my flowers: Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink AND, of course, added 'Wink of Stella' to all the petals to make them shine. It's so pretty in person.

Level Up Gamer

 

With the many 'Gamer' nieces and nephews in my life... this image (found on the internet) has worked well on a few of my cards so far! yay! I always try to incorporate the things they like to do within their cards from me, so it's a challenge sometimes as I don't see them often (they live far away).

Anyway, I know Sam loves VR games, so this was perfect for him.

I used the CK Dandy font (and curved it too). Along with the 'GAMER' is from the Game On Kit from My Memories Suite.

I was intrigued by Elaine's use of the 'Stippled Roses' suite (stamps, dies and papers). So, I tried my hand at utilizing all these within the cards I made for Mother's Day (with all the mothers in my life!)

I love that I was able to use only the Stippled Roses stamps/dies and papers on these cards.

I did add a Wink of Stella on the petals of the roses.

90th Birthday Party

 

My Aunt turns 90 on 5/5/2024! My client (my cousin) wanted me to design her 90th Birthday Party Invitations for her. I was given the ideas of: Mickey and Minnie, Disney and the colors - Purple and Pink.

As with many of my designs, I look online through many different websites and card making and invitations sites to gather ideas. I love how this turned out with the "old style" or Retro Disney sign with the colored rectangles and flags! And of course.... Minnie and Mickey!

I tend to gravitate to the same SU colors that I've always used. So... with this card... I wanted to try using Lemon Lolly on a card. With that... I was able to also utilize the Boho Blue and Lemon Lime Twist. Such a pretty color combination... perfect for a May card.

For the background piece, I stamped Craft White ink on the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder to create a white-washed effect on the "bark".

I used Wink of Stella on the petals to make them shine.

I loved the monochromatic blue card that Cheryl Miller designed with the 'Forever Fern' stamp set and it's coordinating 'Forever Flourishing' dies, that I knew I had to create one of my own. Thanks Cheryl!

I also LOVED the ribbon detail on her card, so tried my hand at it. Let's just say I used a lot of glue dots to keep it in place! LOL!

Kim and Jake Wedding

Wow! Congratulations to my cousin, Kim and her new husband, Jake! They got married! I was honored to design and create their wedding invitations for them. It was a labor of LOVE. With a few mishaps with my die-cutting machine... I was able to get all the die-cut pieces cut with the help of my best friend, Dawn and her Cricut machine! Thanks Dawn for helping me!

The inside floral design with the written words were designed within My Memories Suite digital software and printed through 'Prints of Love'.
