Bitty Thoughts - SCCSC119
Back in my crafting area after a week of fun and sun in Florida on our vacation! It's great to have a chance to use my new crafting supplies from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up Catalog (like the Bitty Banners Framelits and the new In-Colors). These will be available June 1st.
I decided to play with a sketch challenge on Stampin' Connection...and since I'm always in need of 'Thinking of You' cards....this was a perfect fit. I did use a retired stamp set in this card, but the sentiment and image were what I was looking for.

Dragonflies
One of my customers wanted some notecards made of Dragonflies. I created several for her to choose from.... and she chose the three you see here. The "Thank-You" one.... is the card I added thanking her for ordering from me.
I wasn't getting a consistent stamped image with the Inspired By Nature "grass" stamp, so I decided to use My Digital Studio (MDS) to print the grass. I created the rest after printing.

Slam Dunk Star - SQSC37
When I saw this sketch from Stampin Queen's Sketch Challenge (SQSC37)... I was a bit intimidated with it. I started thinking flowers and butterflies, but whatever I tried...it just didn't look right. So, I set the sketch aside and tried to come up with a card for my nephew (who is turning 16 this year). He is so into sports (baseball, football, basketball.... you name it...he's tried out for it).
While working in My Digital Studio (MDS), along with the sports-minded stamps that are available, I started with the basketball... and then followed with the sentiment. Then it dawns on me...that I could definitely use the sketch with this card! Whoo-hoo! I was so excited.
If you'd like to view all the cards created with this sketch..... hop on over to Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge Website here: http://gettincrafty.typepad.com/stampin_queens_sketch_cha/2012/05/sqsc-37.html
Everything on this card is from My Digital Studio. After I printed it on Old Olive paper, I used the Simply Scored tool to make the three lines and then mounted it on Navy cardstock.

Beautiful Overlays
I had purchased the Eclectic Overlays for My Digital Studio (MDS), but have not used it within my scrapbook pages as yet. Then, I thought, WHY, wait for a scrapbook page.... I could use it in a card.
So I printed the Circle Overlay in Island Indigo on Whisper White paper. After printing I colored the frame and flowers in Baja breeze with my blender pen to get a softer look.

Paper - Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry
Ink - Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo (in MDS)
Accessories - Grosgrain Ribbon (Rich Razzleberry), Basic Rhinestones, Big Shot, Lattice Square Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, glue dots, blender pen

Owl Celebrate -HSSCC116
The Color Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments (HSSCC116) is so cute and girly! Although, not all my nieces appreciate these colors....there are a few who LOVE them! So, with Lauren in mind... who is turning 9 this year.... I created this card for her! AND....I got inspiration from pinterest to add hearts to the balloons too.
The card is actually a hybrid.... using My Digital Studio (MDS) for the balloons, ribbon and sentiment. The rest was added after printing.

Flourishing Wings
A few of my nieces are not fans of pink/purple combinations of color, so... with looking at the Colour Q Challenge (CQC135) along with the Stampin Connection Challenge (SCCSC117) I was able to come up with a card that I believe my niece will love! I used Riding Hood Red instead of Ruby Red, and I got rid of the layered box underneath my butterflies (it looked to busy with it).
You can view all the projects created with the Colour Q Challenge here: http://colourq.blogspot.com/2012/05/colourq-challenge-135.html
