Best View

What a more perfect stamp set! When the new 'Seaside View' set came out.... I knew that I had to get it for my Dad. He just finished making Adirondack chairs for him and his wife (along with one for my littlest niece too)! My Dad is always making projects and working hard. Therefore, the  quote from the set is also very apt "Hope You Have a Relaxing Day!". See, perfect!

I did pair this set with the sentiment from 'Best Year' which is also a new stamp set from the 2020-20121 catalog from Stampin' Up!

I colored in the images using Stampin' Blends markers.

Thanks for dropping by! AND.... Happy Father's Day to all the Father's and Father-figures out there!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Seaside View, Best Year
Ink - Early Espresso, Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Seaside Spray)
Paper - Seaside Spray, Whisper White, Early Espresso
Accessories - scissors

Geared Sailing

Father's should be pillars of their families.... a light shining for their children to draw near. I decided to use the lighthouse within the 'Sailing Home' stamp set for my Father's Day cards to both my father and father-in-law.

The stone background represents their hard exterior to stand up to any storm that follows. Both my dad and father-in-law emulate that. I love them both very much!

Happy Father's Day!

Banded Stone

I fell in love with Kristi Gray's card layout (right), so wanted to create one of my own (left). However, I chose to change up my flower color. I used inspiration from pinterest again.... this time from Wendy Canford. Her color combo was "Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight". Thanks ladies for your inspiration and creativity!

The coordinating 'Detailed Bands' dies, make quick work of cutting out the flowers, leaves and intricate band.

Baby Sympathy

I wanted to show my concern and support for my Godson's wife who just recently had a miscarriage. Most sympathy cards I've made are for people of elderly that have passed on. This is the first where it was a miscarriage. I chose the 'Wonderful Moments' stamp set with the pregnant woman because we remember that that baby was a precious child and already loved by the family. Such sorrow and pain from losing such a lovely blessing.

I hope this little gesture brings comfort and support to them as they grieve. HUGS to all the mother's who have had miscarriages.

Planks in the Air

My cousin just moved into their new home... such an exciting time for them. I used an oldie but goodie stamp set 'Up in the Air' which was a hostess set back in 2012 (I think). I paired it with the 'Pinewood Planks' embossing folder. Kinda looks like wood on a house - right?

I colored in the image using Stampin' Blends markers. Cherry Cobbler, Balmy Blue and Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by!

Playhouse Mail

My niece just received a new playhouse, which has a slot for mail. As a card sender.... I felt she needed cool mail for her new home.  So, I made some 2.5x3.5 cards w/envelopes for her. I even found a cool "stamp" embellishment to use on the front of the envelopes! Too cool!

For the inside cards, measuring 2.75x 3.75,  I just used a single piece of cardstock and matted them once. Perfect for little hands! I even made a bill for her home! lol! The parents were laughing.

I used the envelope punch board to create the envelopes. The sheet of paper was 5.5x5.5 to start, and I just followed the numbers on the board to create the score lines and the punch lines.

Here's a look at Eleanor and her new home:
Such a cutie!

Supplies Used:
Envelope Punch Board
Paper - Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Real Red, Petal Pink, Garden Green, Delightful Daisy DSP

Painted Bonanza

Even though it's May, I wanted to create a sunflower card for my niece who loves sunflowers. I mean... loves them so much, she has a tattoo of one on her arm.

So, I brought out my retired 'Painted Autumn' DSP (Designer Series Paper) and filled a piece for the bottom background. For the single sunflower, I cut one out of the DSP. I know.... a lot of turns with the scissors, but worth it!

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Stamp Set - Bonanza Buddies
Ink - Early Espresso
Paper - Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Painted Autumn DSP
Accessories - Scissors, Daffodil Delight Organdy Ribbon

Little Tropical

I wish I was lying on a hammock right now under the palm trees and beautiful sunshine. As it is, as I write this, it's dreary and rainy outside.

To achieve the two-color ink on the trees, I stamped the top portion in Mossy Meadow. Then, very carefully, I wiped off the ink from the trunks of the trees with a paper towel. Then, I used a Soft Suede marker to color in the trunks.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Sets - Little Ladybug, Timeless Tropical
Ink - Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede
Paper - Seaside Spray, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive
Accessories - Die-cut/Emboss Machine, Petals and More dies, In The Tropics dies, Coastal Weave embossing folder dimensionals, glue dots

Smooth Magnolia

When I saw Barb Mullikin's card (on the right) on Pinterest.... I knew I had to create a similar one for myself (on the left)! Thanks Barb for your inspiration! I changed mine up to make it my own!

The gold along the edge of the DSP is the Metallic Edged Ribbon... you just can't see the white ribbon next to the gold. Makes a pretty edge. I die-cut the label twice in gold foil, so that I could create a gold edge around the sentiment label too.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Stamp Set - Peaceful Moments
Ink - Memento
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Magnolia Memory DSP
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Stone Embossing Folder, Smooth Sailing dies, Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon, dimensionals

Say Grad

For my niece, who graduated from The College of Wooster. So proud of you! Congratulations!

I did a bit of hybrid digital stamping on this piece. The focal part... I used My Memories Suite digital software to create a gradient gold color on a square. Next, I added the sentiment from the 'Go Graduate Plus' stamp brush sets. Then printed it out on white cardstock. Finishing it up the traditional way with an embossed background and ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
My Memories Suite digital software
Stamp Brush Set - Go Graduate Plus (sentiment -SU)
Paper - Whisper White, Beige
Accessories - Die-Cut/Emboss Machine, Stone Embossing Folder, Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon

Grad Wish

For my nephew that has graduated from Cleveland State University. Congratulations! We are so proud of you!

I used My Memories Suite digital software to create a graduation cap background. Instead of printing layers - one for the background and one for the sentiment. I made a layer in My Memories Suite and printed it out all on one piece of cardstock.

For the ribbon detail, I cut a slit on the line on top and fed the ribbon through the back and adhered it with double-sided sticky tape.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
My Memories Suite digital software
Embellishments - Grad Party (cap-SU)
Punch - Square (filled w/white)
Font - Christmas Wish Calligraphy and Bernhart (black)

Waterfront Sail

Ah... to be in the tropics right now! Well, I guess I'll settle for making a card with a tropical feel. I used a sponge roller for the first time to create an ocean. Wow! Works so much better than the sponge daubers I would've used. Next, I added the green mountains. The ones in the distance were stamped off and then onto the card, so that it created some distance. I masked the mountains, so that I could stamp the sun coming up the sky.

I used the sailboat within the 'Sailing Home' stamp set, and then used the coordinating 'Smooth Sailing' dies to cut the image out. I colored the sailboat using Stampin' Blends markers.

The sentiment is from the 'Wonderful Moments' stamp set.

Thanks for taking a quick look!
