Petal Textures

I utilized 3 different stamp sets on this card.
'Wonderful Moments' for the sentiment.
'Peaceful Petals' for the main flower.
'Artisan Textures' for the background piece.

I colored in the image using Stampin' Blends markers. The petals have Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette, while the stem is Mossy Meadow.

For the frame, I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamps Sets - Peaceful Petals, Wonderful Moments, Artisan Textures
Ink - Mossy Meadow, Stampin' Blends (Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, Mossy Meadow)
Paper - Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White

Express Petals

I saw Sara Hoogendorn's card on Pinterest, and liked the layout and colors. So, I created something similar with the stamps/embossing folders that I had.

The flower is from the 'Peaceful Petals' stamp set. It's a single flower, so I stamped the flower toward the bottom first. Then, with a scrap piece of paper... I covered it up, so I could stamp the flower toward the top. This technique is called 'masking'.... where you cover up a portion of the image, so you can stamp around it to make it look like it's behind the other image. Cool - huh!

I colored in the image with my Stampin' Blends (Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive).

Thanks for taking a closer look.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Peaceful Petals, Express Yourself
Ink - Memento, Stampin' Blends (Pool Party, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight)

Peaceful Dreams

When I saw the card on the right (from a rubber stamp store called Alte New)... I wanted to try and create a card with the stamp sets (from Stampin' Up!) that I already had on hand. I used colors that were very close to those on the card as well.... Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Whisper White.

I used the AquaPainter to color in the leaves with Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green. I adhered the leaves and flower to the card using glue dots. Oh... and I did cut out the flower and leaves using paper snips.

Thanks so much for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Peaceful Petals
Ink - Staz-on, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green
Paper - Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories - AquaPainter, scissors (paper snips)

Petal Sampler

I saw this cute sketch I found on Pinterest that I wanted to try out.  I really struggled with this card, but I love how it turned out.

I had trouble with the flowers.  I first stamped them on white cardstock, but it didn't look right.  Then I stamped the same color ink as the cardstock... still not what I wanted.  Finally, I used darker inks on the colored cardstock... they really stand out now.

I also chose to ink the sentiment in Crumb Cake instead of Tip Top Taupe.  When using the ink... it seems too dark compared to the cardstock.

I'm glad my perseverance paid off... this is such a cute card. I'm sure my friend will love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Six Sided Sampler, Petite Petals, Peaceful Petals
Ink - Crumb Cake, Delightful Dijon, Tangelo Twist, Island Indigo, Mossy Meadow
Paper - Delightful Dijon, Mossy Meadow, Mossy Meadow DSP, Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories - Petite Petals Punch, Scallop Square Punch, Dotted Lace Trim (Delightful Dijon), Organza Ribbon (Whisper White), scissors

Melon Petals

I love the look of the triple time stamping technique.  I've only used it on white cardstock, so I thought I'd try using it on colored cardstock with white embossing.

I first cut my Watermelon Wonder sheet 8.5x5.5 (base), 4.25x3 and 3.25x2. I then stuck them "temporarily" together with a bit of double-sided sticky tape.  Then, I heat embossed white embossing powder on versamark ink all the flowers and the sentiment.  Once that was complete, I carefully removed the layers and matted each "piece" on to white cardstock.

Thanks for taking a look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set - Peaceful Petals
Ink - Versamark
Paper - Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Accessories - White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Organza White Ribbon

Fabulous Petals - CTS112

I am always looking at cards and sketches online to help get my creative juices flowing! I saw this sketch on the CAS(E) This Sketch blog (CTS112).  You may view their blog here... along with all the cards that have been created with this sketch... : http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2015/02/case-this-sketch-112.html

It took me just a few minutes to decide which stamp set to use -- 'Fabulous Four' was perfect for this!
I used white embossing on the Early Espresso cardstock and just Early Espresso ink on the Whisper White cardstock.  After creating the sentiment, I thought it looked a little plain... so I added my leaves and ribbon to the lower left of my card.  I love how it turned out!

Thanks for taking a look!

Stamp Sets - Fabulous Four, Peaceful Petals
Ink - Versamark, Early Espresso
Paper - Early Espresso, Whisper White, Early Espresso DSP

Friendly Blessings

This is a hybrid card.  The center piece was created within My Digital Studio software using the words from the stamp set "God's Blessings" and the flower image from "Friends 24-7".  It was printed on Whisper White cardstock and matted on Basic Black cardstock.

I completed the card the traditional way.  I masked the right-hand side of the Whisper White cardstock and stamped the "Peaceful Petals" several times on the left side creating a border.  I finished the card by adding the Basic Black taffeta ribbon along the border edge and mounted it on Smoky Slate cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
MDS
Stamp Brush Sets - Friends 24-7 (floral image - Smoky Slate)
Font - Regency and Bliss (words from the stamp set "God's Blessing" and the word "Sympathy - Basic Black)

Ink - Smoky Slate
Stamp Set - Peaceful Petals
Accessories - Taffeta Ribbon (Basic Black)

So Very Blendable

I wanted to test out my new blendabilities markers (from Stampin' Up).  They are alcohol-based inks, so they blend easier than the regular markers.  I do have to say....they are great to work with.  One word of note.... they do seem darker in color than what I was expecting.  But, as you can see.....lovely coverage and beautiful results!  So very cool!

Thanks for looking!

Paper - Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink - Memento, Blendabilities (Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive)

Peaceful One - CTS71

I saw this sketch on the CAS(e) This Sketch blog (CTS71).  Not sure I followed it completely, but it is where I got the inspiration to create my card.  You may view the challenge here (as well as all the cards created with it here): http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2014/04/case-this-sketch-71.html?showComment=1396542833780#c4590177769555153625

Now, I do have to say that I got frustrated with this card.... after several attempts at creating a ribbon banner with the sentiment, I finally just made the ends to go off the page.  LOL! How's that for making the card my own! =)

Peaceful Expression

It's been a while since I was able to create cards in my craft area.  And... with my new products too!  I had fun creating this card.  I started with watercolor paper and stamped the flower image.  Then, using my blender pen and Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Wild Wasabi, I colored the flower.  Using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I was able to get the sentiment centered and as close to the top edge of the banner as possible.  I used by Big Shot to cut out the banner (with the Banners Framelits) and to texture (using the Decorative Dots TIEF) the background piece.

Thanks for taking a peek!
