I loved the look of Erica Cerwin's card (from Pink Buckaroo online). Now... as you can see, I didn't have the correct stamp/die-cut that she used, but I found ones that would work for my card.  Thanks for your inspiration Erica!

Fresh Home

My In-Laws recently moved into an Independent Living Facility. They moved from their home of 63 years, so it was a little rough on them. We wish them many blessings in their new home. We can't wait to see it in person!

Thanksgiving 2018

New Apartment

 

Working still on our 2016 scrapbook (it feels good to get these pages complete) with our move from a suburb of Portland, Oregon to a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio in September 2016.  We wanted to move closer to family... so we had our choice of Los Angeles, California -- where Mike's family lives, or Cleveland, Ohio -- where Diane's family lives. We chose Ohio! Mike was able to keep his job while working virtual office (working from home). It works out well when Mike has to go out-of-town, Diane is able to visit with family and friends.

I get inspiration from many things: color combinations, sketch challenges, many other talented demo's cards and also through perusing the card aisle at the store.  This is one such card from looking through cards at the store..... although, I did change a few words to suit my needs.  The design is my own....yet the colors, too, were from the card I saw.

I designed the card using my software from Stampin' Up!, My Digital Studio.

Sedona

 

We had such a wonderful time seeing the red rocks of Sedona, AZ.... a beautiful place!  These photos really don't do them justice... you need to see them for yourself.

In order to get all my photos, embellishments and words at the same angle.... I simply created my page how I wanted it without an angle, selected all the elements (start off the page and click, hold and drag the mouse over the entire page.... it'll select everything), then grouped them together.  After grouping them, rotate to the angle you want by clicking on the gray box in one corner.

Grove of Patriarchs

 

We spent a day exploring the Grove of the Patriarchs (in Mt. Rainier National Park). It was so amazing to see all those huge trees. We were definitely hugging trees! =)

The Challenge called for using this sketch along with using the 'Rip Photo Edges' Option.  I used this technique on all the photos in this two-page spread.

I also used the 'Freeform - Add a Brush Layer' option to place color under the leaf stamps.

MDS Christmas Cards 2012

I created our Christmas Cards for this year in My Digital Studio.  It was very easy to just create one card and have them professionally printed by Stampin Up! (since I needed 70 cards).

All I can say is WOW! Fabulous!  I'm really happy with the results.  Thanks to My Digital Studio and Stampin' Up.... I am ready for the Christmas season! =)

I used the tri-fold card template in My Digital Studio.  It measures 3.5x5 (folded) and 3.5x15 (unfolded).  The ability to design both sides of the tri-fold card was what drew me to this card type, as I could place a photo and journaling, as a message of Christmas on the cards.

I saw Allison Chilton's card on Pinterest, and fell in love with the design.  I decided to try creating a similar card with My Digital Studio software.  

I noticed my card layout followed the sketch on Sketch Frenzy Friday (SFF082412) blog too.

In tried to create an embossed-look in the background with the chicken wire stamp (same color as the background....whisper white, but played with the drop shadow....opacity to 85% and blur to -2).

I also cropped the ribbon (so that it only showed the overlapped part) and the sentiment (so that I could place it on one line instead of two).

I decided to make mine around our trip to Sedona in June 2012. The red rocks were so beautiful to see, and the weather was just perfect.


I used the coloring tool to color in the bird with Cajun Craze.
