Elegant Poppy

My brother and his wife will be celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary! Congratulations!
I wanted to give them an elegant card, but I was so frustrated with my outcomes. I made two before scrapping them and starting over.

I chose to utilize the 'Poppy Moments' dies. In which, a die-cut outline is placed over the die-cut shape of a different color. Here, I chose a monochromatic card of Sahara Sand and Basic White. A tip I've learn is to use the adhesive sheets when working with really intricate dies like this one.
(Place the adhesive sheet on your cardstock before running it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, then adhere to the die-cut shape after peeling off the second backing.)

I used 'Wink of Stella on the flower petals to make them shine.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Poppy Thoughts

I really loved the  'Poppy Moments' dies when I saw them in the catalog, but they gave me trouble with the intricate parts and in trying to glue them to my projects. When I saw the Adhesive Sheets in the catalog.... I just knew that my frustrations would be over!

The way the adhesive sheets work is to cut a piece the size of the die needed. Take off the backing and adhere the sticky part to the cardstock that you want to die-cut. Next die-cut it. Now that it's die-cut... remove the other side to reveal the sticky part on the cardstock and adhere it to your project. Perfect every time!

I used 'Wink of Stella' on the inside parts of the flower petal to make it shine... Surprisingly, you can see this in my photo (most of my photos, you can't see this). I used a stylus to make the sentiment die-cut shape 'pop' too.

Thanks for dropping by!

Petal Moments

When I saw Sharon Burkert's card (on the right) on Pinterest, I just knew I had to create on for myself. As you can see, I changed a few things to make it my own.... different tag...changed the background up a bit too. I used similar colors as well. Thanks Sharon!

Moments that Pop

At first, I didn't think that the 'Peaceful Moments' stamp set coordinated with the corresponding 'Poppy Moments' dies. But, now that I've played with them a bit... they do pair well together.

The stamp set is a bunch of sentiments... and the dies have plenty of flower and leaf combinations to work with.

As of this day, the day that I am posting, the only colors used for the 'poppies' were coral or red. Which is the color one would normally consider a poppy. However, I chose to use the colors of  Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.

I added a Wink of Stella to the flower and leaf petals (the darker pieces of each to make them 'pop'.

Thanks for dropping by!
