Mother's Day 2019

Mother's Day is always a hard time for me, as my Mother is no longer here on Earth. I know she is watching me from heaven, and I know I will be with her again someday! My husband still has his Mom, and she is a comfort to me too. I do have a few Mother-figures in my life, as does Mike too.
My God-Mother (my Aunt Pat), my best friend's Mom (Kathy) and Mike's family friend (Jennifer). Thanks to all the Mom's out there who love, nurture and provide.... not only for your family, but to all the extended "family" too! Hugs and love to all of you!

I wanted to show you how I received inspiration from SallyStampers card (bottom)... and changed it to make it my own! Thanks for your inspiration Sally!

I utilized many different stamp sets for my cards. The banner is from 'Birthday Banners' and the words inside the banner is from 'Thoughtful Banners'. The flowers and leaves are from 'Falling Flowers' with it's coordinating 'May Flowers' framelits. The banner is die-cut using the 'Bunch of Banners' Framelits. My background is one that I absolutely LOVE!!!!! 'Layered Leaves' DTIEF.

Thanks for dropping by!

As you can see I received inspiration from Dawn Olchefske's card.  Using her layout and design, and with the supplies I had... I created something similar. Thanks Dawn for your inspiration!

I saw a similar card on Pinterest using DSP underneath the swirly scribbles die-cut... so I thought to try it out here.  I added flowers on the die-cut scribbles as I thought it was a bit plain without anything there. Hope you like it!

Celebrating 10

I saw Debbie Mageed's card on Pinterest... and I so loved her kitty that I wanted to try creating one of my own.  Thanks Debbie for your inspiration.  I used the same "Celebrate Today" stamp set that she did as well.

To create the kitty, I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the body, tummy, feet (cut in half) and tail sections (to create the curve...and just used scissors to round out the tip). I used the Owl Two-step punch for the circle for the mouth. And for the ears, I used the May Flower Framelits -- the leaf framelit -- once in yellow and than in white. I used markers to add the stripes, mouth and whiskers. Finally with pearls.... colored them black with staz-on ink for the eyes.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Supplies Used:
Stamp set: Celebrate Today
Ink - Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Black Staz-on, Memento
Paper - Real Red, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White Basic Black

Cherry Blossoms

When I saw the leaves stamp in the Falling Flowers stamp set... I felt they would work great as branches of a tree. With the addition of the flowers in that same stamp set ----I've turned it into a Cherry Blossom tree!

Cherry Blossoms remind me of the the coming spring and everything being in bloom....as well as thoughts of love. So I felt it perfect for a Valentine's Day card for my hubby!
I love him so very much!

I embossed the leaves in white, as well as the sentiment. I added the blossoms with glue dots.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Falling Flowers, Flourishing Phrases
Ink - Versamark, Pink Pirouette
Paper - Smoky Slate, Whisper White

Caring Flowers

Our Aunt had open heart surgery to replace/repair to faulty valves in her heart. Since I cannot be there in person to give her flowers... what better way to cheer her up than sending cheerful flowers that will never wilt!

I used the Falling Flowers stamp set with the coordinating May Flowers Framelits. I didn't have a "current" Get Well wish sentiment, so I used a retired stamp from the Kind and Caring Thoughts stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets - Falling Flowers, Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink - Soft Suede
Paper - Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Peekaboo Peach, Very Vanilla

Time For Flowers

For my hubby on our anniversary! Celebrating 14 years! I love you honey!

I utilized 3 different stamp sets for this card: Falling Flowers for the black vine and red flowers; Time of Year for the banner 'Always'; and Flourishing Phrases for the words 'I Love You'.

I love how it all came together so easily. I was not going to add the flowers...as the vine is pretty on it's own, but with the added flowers it just steps it up with the wow factor!

I pray that we are blessed with many more years together!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Falling Cards

I've seen a few cards using this layout with a slice of the top cardstock cut out, so wanted to try my hand at it.

I'm sure there is an easier way to do this, but I will share how I accomplished it.  With the front of the card and the Simply Scored Tool I scored a diagonal line on the carstock...then I moved only the bottom portion to create another score line. I then used my scissors to cut on the score lines. (The Designer Series Paper is covering the back portion of the card front, so that when the person who opens the card will see the left portion all covered).

I wanted to use the Falling Flowers and the May Flowers Framelits for the first time! Cute set... I can see so many possibilities!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Sets - Falling Flowers, Tin of Cards
