Florida 2019

 

Still working on our 2019 photobook.... these two pages are dedicated to our trip to Florida. Mike was working in Clearwater, we stayed the night and visited with my Aunt Pat in Sarasota, then visited with Mike's sister Linda and her family in Orlando. While in Clearwater, we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary with dinner at Blinkers Beachside Restaurant. A whirlwind two weeks packed with fun, sun and sand.

I decided to play with a scrap layout that I found on scrapbook.com. I modified it for an 8.5x11 page instead of a 12x12. A lot of work....and a lot of detail, but it came out beautifully! Here's the page that I found that was my inspiration for my two-page spread.

Luau 2019

 

Continuing with our 2019 photobook.... I'm working on October 2019. Usually, Mike and I take a trip to Hawaii to celebrate our anniversary. Not sure why this year we didn't go... not enough vacation time/ visited our family in CA and FL/ wanted to save some more money first/ Mike had too many projects at work to finish.... in any event, we didn't get to go. My neighbor and I decided to throw a luau and invite another couple from our apartment complex to join us in the fun! My neighbor had a few decorations that we put up (YES..... even the long table runner that we used as a wall decoration!). We played Hawaiian music and Mike made Teriyaki Chicken on the grill. We even had some Hawaiian trivia!

Hubbard Valley 2019

 

Continuing work on our 2019 photobook with our August 2019 hike in the Hubbard Valley Park... part of the Medina County Park District. It was close to the Western Reserve National Cemetery where my mom is laid to rest, so we stopped by to see her before going to the park. It was a nice day to get out and enjoy nature.

Aulani 2018

 

 

For our anniversary this year, we decided to go to the Disney Aulani Resort and Spa in Oahu, HI in October. We also decided to just experience the resort for the entire time we were there -- so no excursions outside the hotel (except for food and buying souvenirs, of course!). The lazy river was one of our favorites -- we spent everyday relaxing in it!

Couldn't fit all my photos on a two-page spread.... so extended it to four pages!

PurpleStride Cleveland 2018

 

In June 2018 was the annual PurpleStride Walk/Run to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo. We, along with a few of my family members, participated in the walk and two volunteered their time to help with the event. We walk to support those that have been diagnosed and are still fighting and we remember those we have lost to this devastating disease (My Mom).

Also in May 2018, we spent sometime exploring John's Pass and the Boardwalk with Mike's sister and her family. She was camping nearby. We celebrated Samuel's 8th birthday at their home in Orlando.

Dana Point

 

In February 2017, we flew to California to visit with Mike's family. We took a trip to Dana Point with his parents and spent a few days there enjoying the weather and each other. Whenever we do get the chance to go to Dana Point, we never miss out on eating at The Brig! We met up with Mike's Aunt and Uncle for lunch at Jon's Fish Market. Then we ate dinner at El Torito.

Working on another double-page spread for our 2016 photobook with our trip in June to Ohio and the Cleveland Metroparks - Hinckley Reservation.  After our hike a few family members decided to go to the boathouse for some fun on the lake.

With this page... I used an oval punch/shape with one of my photos to create the title for my page! How cool is that!

Well, let's just say I've been procrastinating a lot lately. A few weeks ago, I decided to start working on our 2016 photobook -- of places we have visited or things we have done in 2016. So, with that said, with these pages, I've scrapbooked our Long Beach California trip in January 2016.We went to the Aquarium of the Pacific with Mike's sister and her family along with Mike's parents. The kids enjoyed touching the sting rays. My favorite is the jellyfish... along with the raccoon butterflyfish!

Bandon Oregon

Mike and I took a short trip to the coast to celebrate my birthday back in March 2016... here is a calendar page to showcase our trip. This one will be for the month of March...as we took this trip in March....it seemed very fitting.

Just a note on how I got the yellow rope to go in front and behind the anchor on the page. I cropped part of the it - below the knot, so that part would be positioned in front of the anchor. Then I cropped the bow part out to just show the swirly rope part... this I placed behind the anchor. If you look closely, near the bottom of the circle of the anchor, you can see a slight shift in the rope... that's where I cropped both images and placed them together.

Tryon Creek Calendar Page

Since I just finished a double-page spread for our 2015 photobook... I also wanted to include a page for our 2016 calendar of our time at the Tryon Creek State Park. (see previous post).

Tryon Creek State Park

 

Today I decided to work on our 2015 photobook with our recent hike to the Tryon Creek State Park. I used the Splitcoaststampers website's September Scraplift Challenge. In this challenge, we were tasked with Scraplifting (using a layout or colors) found on someone else's gallery of scrapbook pages.  This month (September) is scraplifting Annie's Pantry's (Anavon) gallery.  She has many that stand out to me, so I plan on using a few of her layouts.

New Home

Here is the first page of our 2015 photobook.  As Mike and I just moved to the state of Oregon in January 2015... this was a good place to start! =)

Although I have moved several times throughout the years... I've never liked packing and moving. This time we hired someone else to do all the heavy lifting and moving of our belongings! I just needed to tell them where to place it in our new apartment.

As it is August 2015 now.... we've had time to explore and get settled into our new neighborhood.

I completed my page in my new My Memories Suite digital software to test it out.  The My Digital Studio (from Stampin' Up!) is no longer being supported, so I need to try other programs.  My Memories Suite is very similar to MDS... with a few differences, so it provides an almost seamless transition for those that love My Digital Studio.

I have noticed that you cannot crop stamps (or imprints, as they are called in MMS) as you could do in MDS.  I will need to contact My Memories Suite developers to see if this can be added to their software.

For this progressive challenge, I used photos from March 2015 when we took my brother to the coast to see the Pacific Ocean.  It was a bit chilly, but fun to walk and take photos on the beach.  There were many, many steps to go down (and then back up), but we did it! =)
