Princess Ledges 2019

My goal for 2021 is to finish our 2019 photobook, so here I am still working on September 2019. I believe this is the last of our hikes that we took in 2019. Whew! A few more months to go before I'll be done with 2019. Although, now that I think of it..... our 2020 photobook will be pretty sparse on places that we've gone or things we have done due to coronavirus. Gosh, I pray things get better this year!

Thanks for stopping by!

Silver Falls

Continuing work on our 2015 photobook with our road trip with my brother to Silver Falls State Park where we hiked to see 4 of the 10 waterfalls in the park.  We do plan on going back to hike the rest of the trails to view the other waterfalls soon.

I had created a calendar page of one of these falls, and wanted to follow with that color scheme with these two pages.  I also wanted to include the map that shows where we hiked to see each of the falls. It's kinda neat to have a reference point to see how far we needed to hike to see each waterfall and where they are in relation to the others.  The photos around the center map are placed where we saw each waterfall too.

Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies Used:
Background - Gumball Green
Embellishments - Walk in the Park II (leaf border recolored gray; leaf); Feast of Thanks (leaf); Dahlias (Whisper White); Grosgrain Ribbon (Basic Gray)
Punch - Square (filled w/Basic Gray DSP); Eyelet Border (filled w/light gray)
Font - Lover's Quarrel and Bliss (White)

South Falls -MDS107

I decided to play with the sketch this week on MDS Monday.  You may view the challenge on their blog here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2015/03/mdsm-107-journaling-with-freeform.html  Cindy has a great sketch - and - such a cool technique to create shaped journaling.

I, too, used the Freeform Tool to create a box. As I am not well versed with this "tool" it took some trial and error to first get a box, and then to have my text go the 'right' way on the box. (The first time I created a box -- the words, when attached, went counter clockwise and inside the box. The second time I created a box -- the words, when attached went clockwise and were outside the box). <--- Interesting - Huh! You learn something new (at least I did) everyday!
Thanks Cindy for the challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Background - Old Olive
Embellishments - Basic Pearls; Basic Gray Grosgrain Ribbon; Feast of Thanks (leaf); Walk in the Park II (leaf border - recolored Sahara Sand); Dahlias
Punch - Square (filled w/Basic Gray DSP and Basic Gray); Eyelet Border (Sahara Sand)
Freeform Tool (created a line box for the journaling to follow path)
Font - Lover's Quarrel and Boho (Whisper White)

Thanksgiving - MDSM92

Working on another page for our 2015 Calendar with 'Places we've been in 2014'.  Here was our trip to Cleveland to visit family. We stayed at my brother's house.  One of the many things we love about staying at his house is that he has a fabulous fireplace.  The weather cooperated and was very cold many days, so a fire was lit almost everyday of our visit!  We are so thankful for family AND for the many opportunities that we have to visit!

I created this page using only part of a double-page spread that I saw on the MDS Monday blog.  You may view their challenge here:

I may use the other sketch on a different scrapbook page, but that will be completed on a different day. =)

Supplies Used:
Background - Early Espresso
Punch - Square (filled w/Feast of Thanks #6, #7 and #8)
Stamp Brush Set - Love Story (heart strings)
Embellishments - Feast of Thanks (leaves, nut, acorn, and wheat); Sweet Sorbet (thread- Summer Starfruit and knot - Calypso Coral recolored Early Espresso); Round Button (Chocolate Chip)

Two for the Price of One - MDSM62

I saw this cool sketch on MDS Monday's blog....and saved that sketch to my computer desktop to work on it this week.  Well, I got the time to create it ..... designed it.... and it looks amazing! So, today I went to add it to the MDS Monday's blog, and found out that I didn't read the whole challenge!  Oh well..... time to create again! LOL.  What's great is now I have two wonderful cards! Thanks MDS Monday!

So, if you'd like to view their challenge MDSM62 - click here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2014/04/mds62-were-matching.html  I've added the sketch here, so you can see it:

The challenge was to create a card with this sketch - AND - to add a DSP that you like and only use the 'matching tool' within MDS to fill in all the other elements on the card. Whew!  I do have to say that it was challenging to complete this task....since the DSP I chose 'Feast of Thanks' had variations within each small strip....as you can see with the striped paper above and below the 'Happy Birthday' piece.

I this card with the words 'Happy Birthday'.  It's from 'Delightful Dozen' and I cropped it to only get one 'Happy' and one 'Birthday' from it, so they show in a single line and not one on top of the other. After grouping them together, I copied and pasted them in rows.  I then added a square punch with my 'Feast of Thanks' striped DSP. I grouped those strips of DSP plus the sentiment together and rotated all of it -.8 degrees. After ungrouping all the elements, I was able to use the color matching tool within MDS to color in my sentiment.  Each balloon is a separate embellishment from 'Piece of Cake' and I used the color matching tool to change those colors to match.  The brad is bronze, but even that I was able to use the color matching tool to change it to be a red bronze. I also used the color matching tool on the tag outline...and with the freeform tool to create the sprinkles underneath the frosting on the cupcake!
Thanks for a wonderful challenge Cindy (at MDS Monday)!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Naturals White
Punch - Square (filled w/Feast of Thanks DSP #2); Tag (filled w/yellow - color match and Whisper White)
Embellishment - Brad (Bronze - color matched to Red); Piece of Cake (balloons - cropped and color matched blue and yellow)
Stamp Brush Set - Delightful Dozen (words - cropped and color matched yellow and blue); Party Hearty (cupcake - colored Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue)
Freeform Tool - to color sprinkles blue underneath the frosting using the color matching tool

Now....here's the first card I created with this sketch:
This reminds me of all those times my Dad was fixing the cars or bikes we had over the years...greasing things up and getting messy!

Thanks for looking!

Supplies Used:
Paper - Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Whisper White
Stamp Brush Set - Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment- Whisper White), Glimmer Kit (chevrons - Basic Black); Ink Splatter (Basic Black)
Punch - Square (filled w/Smoky Slate); Cog (filled w/Going Gray and Basic Gray

Tropical - MDSM43

I started working on my inside pages for our 2012 photobook.  With the first page (after the cover).... I used a photo(s) from our 2012 Hawaiian Cruise in October, and really liked how it turned out.
I like it so well, that I'm now thinking it needs to become a double page spread (so, not to be used as the first page of my photobook).  It's so wonderful to be working digitally, as I can rearrange pages with just the click of the mouse!!!!

Now with this page, I used a sketch that I found on the MDS Monday blog (MDSM43).  You may view the challenge here: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/12/mdsm43-lots-of-layers.html

I will create the second page to this double page spread a bit later in my digital 2012 photobook plans.... I'll post it when I get chance.

Thanks for looking!

2012 Cover Page - MDSM42

I decided to start working on my 2012 Photobook...... I know, I know..... I'm way behind. 2013 is almost over and we're ready to ring in the New Year 2014! But.... I'm determined to get caught up...... EVENTUALLY! =)

I was intrigued by the sketch and technique challenge on the MDS Monday Blog.  Along with the sketch.... they asked us to convert one of our stamps to a punch.  Clever -right?  Well, you may view the challenge here on their blog -- As well as -- the link to the video tutorial on how to change your stamp brush sets to punches: http://mdsmonday.blogspot.com/2013/11/mdsm42-stamp-to-punch-with-card-sketch.html

I used the papers in the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Papers for my page.  I decided to convert my "moments" stamp brush to a punch.  This way it seems like the the year and words were just punched out of the 'soft suede' cardstock by seeing the background paper underneath! Cool!

You can see some wording going down the left side of my page (sort of off the paper).... well, don't worry.  It's meant to be there.  It's part of my cover page -- it'll show on the spine of my photobook when I'm complete!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies Used:
My Digital Studio
Background Paper - Elegant Soiree #7
Punch - Square (Soft Suede); Flag (Very Vanilla); Timeless Type Junior Numbers (Elegant Soiree #7); Moments Ago - words (Elegant Soiree #7)
Stamp Brush Sets - Decorative Overlays (woodgrain - Crumb Cake); Moments Ago (words - Baja Breeze)
Embellishments - Feast of Thanks (leaves - recolored Soft Suede and Baja Breeze)
