Meadows Lodge 2018

Mike and I went on a family vacation to a lodge in southern Ohio in July 2018. The Lodge is called Meadows Lodge and its part of the Buffalo Lodging Company in Rockbridge, Ohio. Beautiful log cabins and lodges there. The Meadows Lodge comfortably fit all of our 22 people in our family. We stayed for 4 nights and 3 days... it was wonderful to get together and be with family.

I decided to create a photobook for each family (6 in all), so I kept it simple and focused on the photos. I used my My Memories Suite digital software to create the pages... and used Shutterfly to get them printed (it was cheaper than going through My Memories to get printed, as Shutterfly had a 50% off entire order plus free shipping! Can't beat that!).

Some of my cards are CASE(d) cards, which means, I copied and stamped everything the same as someone else. This is the case with this card. I saw "Stampin and Scrappin' with GJ's" on Pinterest and fell in love with the simplicity of the card. Now, I believe she actually CASEd this card from someone else too, but I don't have the info to place here.

Unicorn Birthday

My neighbor wanted a special birthday card created for her granddaughter who was turning 3 this year! I was shown her invitation and she wanted a card that was similar.

I found the unicorn image online... through a person who had thank you cards created with this image.  Thanks to her, I was able to download the PDF image and create a card with my own wording in my digital software.

The font used within this card is Chopin Script.

Record Celebration

When I saw Eimear's card (right) I just knew I needed to create one for myself for my nephew. He collects and plays records... and this was so perfect for him. Thanks Eimear for your inspiration!

It looks like Eimear embossed the "record" with circles. I chose to just die-cut nesting circles and placed them on top of each other (centered) to create the "record". Either way works.

Kitty Courage

My nieces and Sister-in-Law lost their beloved kitty Louie this week. Louie had been in their lives for 16 years, so the loss is profound.

I've made a similar card before, but I changed a few details to make it a new card.

Bunch for You

With the 'Beautiful Bouquet' stamp set and the coordinating 'Bouquet Bunch' framelits you can create many different floral arrangements to suit your needs. Choose the flowers you want and then the colors....each card is different!

I chose to use Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana for my flowers. For the leaves... I used Granny Apple Green.

With the background spray of flowers, I used Powder Pink to make it appear softer.

Berry Icing

 

My Mom used to decorate cakes when I was a child. My siblings and I fought over the leftover "roses" made of icing, as my Mom made several extra just in case they didn't turn out good/got ruined. YUM....sugar overload! Such wonderful memories of my Mom! This Stampin' Up! set -- 'Icing on the Cake' reminded me of her and all the wonderful, tasty cakes she used to make.

I got inspiration for my creation from the Stampin' Up! Catalog showcasing this stamp set.
The stamp set is what's called a 'Two-Step' stamp set, which means there are two stamps for every flower and leaf. I used Berry Burst and Powder Pink on the center and outer flowers. The other two was created just by using Powder Pink.... but the background is stamped off on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on the flower (creates a softer color than the original).

Beautiful Home

Although this stamp set has retired, it is the perfect stamp for new home owners! (at least that's what I think of when I see this stamp set). My God-daughter and her husband just moved into their first new home. 

I stamped the image with Chocolate Chip and colored in the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends (Old Olive , Daffodil Delight and Pool Party - all light versions).

Bubbly Brew

The 'Bubble Over' stamp set and coordinating 'Bottles and Bubbles' framelits are perfect for someone turning 21! Although.... you could make soda pop bottles too!

I also tried using the new 'Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes' on the tiny bubbles in the corner. CUTE!

I used a stamp from the 'Waterfront' set to "ground" my bottles.

I saw a few cards that had candles made out of DSP (Designer Paper Series) paper along with the 'celebrate' die-cut across those candles, so I thought I'd give it a try with the DSPs that I had. I used the Brights Collection (retired now). I chose to use all the same pattern.... those I saw online used different patterns.

Apron Adventures

My niece, Samantha, is going through Cosmetology school and I felt that the 'Apron of Love' stamp set was just perfect for her birthday card.

I used the 'Stamparatus' tool to align the scissors in the background just right. Very cool tool if you don't have one.

Not sure if this photo brings out that I used Elegant Eggplant (purple color) for the heart, sentiment and background scissors...as well as the mat for the background piece. Kinda looks black in the photo to me. Sorry!

Perfect Birthday

The 'Picnic for You' stamp set with it's coordinating 'Picnic Basket Builder' framelits provide so many different possibilities to create great cards.  Here's the first one I've created. Although, there are many individual pieces to die-cut... it's so worth the extra time it took to piece this card together. You can change anything to suit your needs!

I've paired this stamp set with the sentiment 'Happy Birthday' from the 'Picture Perfect Birthday' stamp set.

I used Pear Pizzazz for the grass; Merry Merlot for the wine in the glass, as well as, the napkin for the basket; Crumb Cake for the bread; Daffodil Delight for the cheese; Soft Suede for basket; and Chocolate Chip for the wine bottle and glasses.

Big Reason

Wow! Its sometimes hard for me to come up with a lot of masculine cards all in one month. July is not an easy month for me as I have 9 masculine cards to create and 4 feminine cards. Its a huge birthday month for our family.

While looking at individual stamps within a set... you have to think outside the norm for the use of the set. I used just the leaf stamp within the 'Special Reason' stamp set and only two leaf die-cuts from the 'Stylish Stems' coordinating framelits.

The sentiment is from the 'Big On Birthdays' stamp set.
I am in awe with this card. Its simple yet very sophisticated! Not sure if its the colors I used or the layout, but I'm so happy how it came together.

Sublime Lake

I used several different stamp sets to achieve this card. The frog is from 'You're Sublime', the waterlilies and floral spray are from 'Swan Lake', the water is from 'Waterfront', and the sentiment is from 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous'.

I used a scrap piece of paper to mask the frog so I could position the waterlilies behind him and also to color in the water underneath.
