Gram - MDSM84

At first, when I saw the challenge on the MDS Monday Blog this week.... I thought I didn't have any "vintage" photos, so I couldn't participate in the challenge.  Well, I got to looking around.... and I saw a photo that my Aunt posted of my Grandma (her Mother) on her facebook page from way back before Gram was married.  Whoo-hoo! I have a photo!  I'm so happy to have this photo now on a scrapbook page -- I miss my Grandma.  She was 21 in this photo.

You may view challenge and all the pages created with it on thier blog here:

I decided to stick with the colors Very Vanilla and Soft Suede.....even recoloring some of the embellishments from Vanilla to Suede.

Thanks for taking a look!

Supplies Used:
Background paper - Very Vanilla
Embellishments - Designer Rosettes (Very Vanilla recolored Soft Suede); Stitching (zigzag -Very Vanilla recolored Soft Suede); Soft Blooms (Very Vanilla recolored Soft Suede); Timeless Taffeta Trimmings (Soft Suede); Basic Pearls
Stamp Brush Set - Vintage Overlays (Soft Suede)
Punch - Square (Soft Suede DSP)
Font - England (Soft Suede)

  1. Diane, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this page! It's absolutely gorgeous! She looks like a queen with fan embellishment on the top of the frame. Great touch! Those soft bloom flowers, and all the subtle brown tones look absolutely elegant. The ribbons finish the whole page off beautifully. I'm so glad you found this picture and entered the challenge!

There are so many great things going on, love the flower cluster, love the taffeta ribbon, all together a beautiful page!

  6. Your. page. is. gorgeous! You know what the first thought was that popped in my head? "She's like a queen or something!", and then I scrolled down and saw that that was what Tami had also commented! You have done an absolutely fantastic, gorgeous, beautiful, (I wish I could think of more adjectives!) job on this work of art.... labour of love really... it's so obvious! Thanks so much for playing along at MDS Monday!

    1. My Grandma WAS like a Queen to all her grandchildren. She made mouthwatering desserts all the time, and we loved it when we visited. Thanks for your wonderful words! =)
