Tree Greetings

Bringing back an "oldie but a goodie" stamp set! The 'Lovely As A Tree" stamp set is one that is beloved by all who stamp with it.

I created these 4 cards with the same layout, but with different colors to use up some of my scrap ribbon that I had small portions of.

Happy Birthday

 

When I saw this cute card (on the right)... I just knew I had to create something similar for my brother-in-law's birthday. He plays the keyboard in a band, so I didn't create the piano part on my card.

I found the sheet music for 'Happy Birthday to You!' online, and felt that this was perfect for my birthday card rather than just using any song sheet for the top portion.

The keys were put together using the 'Word Window' punch, and aligned like a keyboard would be.

Gorgeous Tropic

The 'Tropical Chic' stamp set is becoming my favorite set! I wanted a very masculine feel to this card, so I chose to use the colors of Crumb/Black/White. Such a striking combo.

I paired this stamp set with the sentiment from 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous' stamp set.

Beautiful Rose

 

I saw this card on Pinterest from StampinNightOwl's website. I just knew I needed to create one for myself. I used the smaller rose die from the 'Rose Garden' thinlits... as the bigger one would've been too big for the opening I made. I did use the leaves from the bigger die though.... as opposed to the leaf branch that she used. 

Since my card is a December birthday card, I chose to use Merry Merlot cardstock and ink.  I used an iridescent ribbon that I found on a package that I received (so I'm not sure where it's from).

Thanksgiving 2018

I love this layout of a title on it's side with a sentiment along it's length. Thanks H. Brown for your inspiring design (her's is on the right).

I achieved this same layout using my digital software - My Memories Suite. The leaf branch is from My Memories and it's at 40% opacity, so you can still see the words for the sentiment. The fonts used for the title is Regency and for the sentiment - it's Bradley Hand ITC. I printed it out on Very Vanilla cardstock and finished the card the traditional way.

Peekaboo Kitty

One of my many nieces will be turning 15. She loves kitties and loves the color blue, so I incorporated that into this card here.

I colored the stamped image 'Pretty Kitty' with Stampin' Blends. I love how it doesn't show the ink lines when coloring in details.

Veterans' Day 2018

When I saw Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek's card (on the right)... I just knew it would be a perfect Veterans' Day card. I changed mine up a bit to make it my own!  Thanks Lyssa for your inspiration!

I designed this using my digital software program (My Memories Suite). The letters in the word 'Thank You' are the Timeless Type Junior letters (shapes), and I filled them in using the Grunge Flag Background (SCA). The other words are just black text using Bradley Hand ITC font. The stars are just shapes, as well. I printed this out on Whisper White cardstock and then matted it first in Real Red and then on the card base - Night of Navy.

Happy Veterans' Day to all those who are serving and have served this great country - the USA!

I found this lovely card (on the right) on Pinterest... it was linked to just a photo and not to a person's website, so I cannot credit who this person is! I loved the idea of a softer background stamped image and a darker focal image. As you can see... I made a few changes to make it my own, but the inspiration was all CASED. Thank you!

I paired the sentiment from the 'Picture Perfect Birthday' stamp set with the 'Colorful Seasons' stamp set. For the lighter stamped images, I used Crumb Cake and So Saffron. For the darker images, I used Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso.

Party Bubbles

'Bubble Over' is such a great stamp set for teens, as well as those that are that are turning 21. You can make it a pop bottle or brew with a different label/color.

I made my card monochromatic blue for my nephew who is turning 17!

Sympathy of Pet

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law live on a farm (horses and chickens mostly), and are somewhat used to loss of animals. But... they have gone through many losses this year. Two of their beloved dogs were poisoned, her prized horse of 26 years passed away and now -- one of her indoor doggies (Bean) of 16 years -- has passed away too. I'm not sure how she does it.

I saw this cute card (on the right), and felt it was fitting for them... as Bean was a tiny Pomeranian dog.

Rooted Thoughts

I wanted to try to create a masculine sympathy card using the 'Rooted in Nature' stamp set. I also used the sentiment from the 'Thoughts and Prayers' stamp set.  I used the colors of Gray, Black and White.  Not sure if you can see it in the photo, but the black edges are textured with the 'Layered Leaves' DTIEF.

Sunny Adventure

My niece, Kassie, takes many photos of raptors, wolves and her kitty. So, for her birthday I wanted to create a card centered around the photos she takes everyday.

I found the camera in my digital software, so I created the focal point of the card within My Memories Suite.

Behind the camera, I overlapped two sunburst embellishments to create the starburst. The text is also from the computer (well, expect for the 'Have A' .... I had a stamp for that!).

Once I printed it off on Whisper White cardstock, I was able to finish the card using the traditional method.

Mermaid Invitation

My "niece" wanted me to create her best friend's baby's birthday invitations. She gave me the theme - mermaids, and the color - purple to work with.

I found the mermaid image online - clipart for free. I used my digital software to create the scene and then printed it out on whisper white cardstock. Then I matted it onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

Rooted Bouquet

I wanted an elegant looking card for my In-laws wedding anniversary. I remember creating a card similar to this one with the ribbon detail and the background piece (although, with a different stamp and color). I thought I'd try it with the 'Rooted In Nature' stamp set!

Wow! I'm in awe of this card! I love the look of the background piece with the leaves.  I stamped the leaf stamp several times to cover the edges of the background.

With the front panel, I cut a horizontal line in the middle of the cardstock to encompass the width of the ribbon, ad threaded it through. Then attached the bow. I added the metallic heart enamel shape above the bow too!

Better In Nature

Using some new sets again from Stampin' Up! This time, it's the 'Rooted In Nature' stamp set with it's coordinating framelits - 'Nature's Roots' , and the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up! makes things easier to coordinate with it's new suite sets - Designer Series Papers that match/go with a stamp set. Although, you do not have to use them together... they can be used separately too.

Something interesting within the 'Nature's Roots' framelits, there are 3 dies that only emboss images. These three have a corresponding framelit to cut them out if desired. Pretty cool! As you can see, I used the embossed thinlit with the framelit for the dark leaf.
